A Tale of Middle Earth: Game OVER

This is my first advanced game, so I am pretty clueless besides the town and mafia role.

Multiball means there will be more than 1 scum team. And they have to beat each other as well as Town.

If the game is multiball, as I understand the term, that means we have a large number of guilty parties.

 

The discussion will, invariably, die if there are a large number of guilty parties and almost no reason for them to feel under pressure.

We may have 1 more guilty party than you would normally find in a game this size BUT that also means each scum team will be smaller in size. So the smaller scum teams make finding scum mates much more difficult than in a normal game PLUS both scum teams have to actually scum hunt to find the other team which, in turn, forces them to post more villagery.

 

Multiball could also mean this is a recruiting game. So you need to be on the look out for interactions that do a 180. That could be a cop clear or that could be a recruit that got recruited. It's a mess and typically doesn't end well for the Town.

 

thanks yates. this is way more exciting than a basic game lol. I am not fond of the recruiting however. Could town have a ability like this, or is it usually the mafia?

EP: You're okay to dislike my banter, but when did I say I was sitting back and letting things happen? I'm pretty sure that was your words when you said you wanted to sit back and wait until people checked in, and I agreed but said it didn't mean we had to just spam until then. We can still gauge reactions and see how people are playing. Maybe I used the wrong wording there with the "same" but in no way was I agreeing to just doing nothing until everyone was present. That would hinder town progress more than a little day one banter.

 

**added: for the record, spamming can sometimes be helpful because it still counts as game play and you can see who is trying to get away from the spam and who is adding to it.

A villager doesn't always have to be sure of someone, but I find fence-straddling to be wolfish.

 

It will help me figure out whether your fence sitting on me is villagery or not if you do me a favor and lay out your thought process on me as to why you liked my post at all, and why you're of two minds about it.

I mean most notably I think he has a volume tell (or did when last I played him) but I have a pretty good track record of correctly reading him as a villager. I think he's wolfed against me twice and fooled me once but it was also with tom who is a jerkface. I even think i suspected you at first that game sili then tom talked me out of it.

 

The other game was at pog and I think you died quick sili, but I don't remember

If there was, I missed it. Sili's vote at the end was the only one I noticed.

 

I think I had it in my head that more people had voted Zander because several saw him to be wolfy.

Discussion is off to a slow start but things are picking up, from where I sit. More votes are being cast and some solving attempts are being made.

Othe than that sili is a great mislynch target for wolves when he's a villager often times not necessarily due entirely to himself but I don't think he words himself properly when he's trying to talk himself out of suspicion all the time.

 

I guess it factors in a little bit to me constantly reading him villager but sometimes you gotta go with your gut In this game of mafia wolf and my gut is telling me silI is probably a villager

Maybe. I never realized that myself.

 

It seems to me whenever I'm mislynched there is

 

A) a teammate who is tunneling with their blinders on

B) i don't have a claim, or claim on the spur of the moment which is torn to pieces

C) I'm loud and noticeable, and scum can tunnel small inconsistencies until the villagers convince themselves to follow the path of least reesistance (which is lynching the loudest person).

D) Cor-bear or someone with influence tunnels me because (...) and town and wolves latch onto it.

Manbat is monstrman is dingus is the villager hero who is a red wolf. I'm sure you've seen him around. He's a good guy.

I'm sure all those things play a factor as well but I think that when people start pushing you and don't know you often times you are prone to say things that kind of push the issue.

 

That's just my opinion. I think you have pretty good reads pretty often actually. Communication is hard.
