So, if I'm understanding this correctly, Nolder gave Alanna the doll. The result of doing so is Nolder's replacement (sorry your name escapes me atm) was informed that either alanna or her item aren't town. She or it could be 3rd party, but if this is all true, I'm willing to vote her. Not putting her at L-1 without hearing from other people though.

Eldrick, the doll is the item I have. I do not have and never have had another item besides it. Your theory that Nolder gave me the doll and it to him my alignment cannot be true because I am town, and I have no item except that doll.

Ok. I did misunderstand it. After reading it again, this is what I have.

Someone gave you the doll. Nolder checked you with whatever his ability does and saw the doll. He quit before he could get the result. Arsis got the result of the doll being not-town. I'm not going to vote you because your artifact isn't town-aligned. That just doesn't make sense. If you are telling the truth, though, I suggest you keep the doll.

I'm not sure what to think of this doll. In most games with items, if the possessor of an item dies, the item is out of play. But who knows if Kay is doing that? I'd like to lynch Alanna, who I have a scum read on, and see if that happens. But I don't like the way Arsis presented his case. He gave us the impression that Alanna was evil, not the item. He came forward later and corrected that assumption. Honestly, I think I'm going to sit on all this for now, and go back to Wombat, who is a stronger scum read for me.

Vote Wombat

It came off as that to me too, and because of the horrible case, I'm not suspicious of Arsis.

Ok, so here's my take on it.

When Arsis viewed Alanna she didn't have the item that she now says she has, assuming she was telling the truth when she said she didn't have it until the beginning of D2...

Ohhh. Hmm.

I was told at the start of Day 2 that I received a doll. I was told it doesn't do anything to me. I have no idea what abilities it might have otherwise.

FWIW, I think he is probably telling the truth and is town...but there is definitely the possibility that scum somehow found out about this item. In which case lynching me could be a 2 for 1 for them. They get a townie lynched, and probably also have a chance to get their hands on this anti-town item. Which I'm betting they can use.

You also say you think Arsis is Town

am VT. Per my role PM. I somehow received an item at the end of Night 1 that does nothing to me and that i can do nothing with. I did not say it was a completely benign object. It may not be. I suspect it may be an anti-town item that only anti-town can use.

But yes, Arsis, I am VT. I started the game VT and so far as I am concerned, I'm still VT because I can do nothing with this item. The item may be anti-town, but it appears to be harmless to town in my possession.

Then again here you change your claim on when you got the item, which makes no sense unless you're lying about something.

*snip*

Sooh - Was leaning town on Sooh, but I don't like the vote on me without even commenting on what I've said about this item

*snip*

Of the people who voted me so far, I'm most concerned about NotBob, Sooh, and Lily. NotBob never gave any reason for voting me but hopped on when a few other people had mentioned suspecting me. Didn't like that both Sooh and Lily voted after I mentioned the item, but didn't comment on it at all. I mean, they didn't even say "I think Alanna is lying." That's super weird to me. Looks like they're taking advantage of Arsis' claim to go for an automatic lynch.

So that's it. I think I've said all I can for now. Later.

So, Alanna, I don't believe you... There are too many things not adding up.

I'd just like say that I don't think her timing is an issue. She says she received the item at the end of N1, and was told about it the start of D2. That's how NAs work, and it makes sense.

So Alanna was at L-1 for a bit, and she didn't get hammered. I'm willing to bet there's a good amount of scum on her lynch, if she is indeed town.

What? "For a bit" is defined as, literally, 8 minutes? And you think that the fact she wasn't hammered during an 8 minute stretch starting at ~4 AM EST is meaningful?

I don't like the way Arsis presented his case. He gave us the impression that Alanna was evil, not the item. He came forward later and corrected that assumption.

Well, he wouldn't know, right? If his item/powers/whatever allow him to see if a role/item/artifact is evil, why would he assume the person was GIVEN an evil artifact? This is my Alanna logic in reverse. If someone accuses me of being scum when I'm VT via some type of investigation, I don't just assume they are telling the truth. If I'm an investigator and receive a guilty result, I don't just assume it's because of some type of NA shens.

Ultimately, Cass' thought here is going to sway me:

The only experience I've had with items in a game, obtaining it was 3rd party's alternate wincon.

Yeah. I remember how Dice's 2nd wincon was to steal Excalibur. Now that everyone knows who has the doll, I'm afraid this can be used to hurt us. So EVEN IF Alanna is Town - which is debatable at this point - she is just a VT and in possession of an item that could potentially hurt the Town. For this reason, I absolutely think the SAFEST play here is to vote for Alanna and get rid of a potential scum slot - in case she is lying about the item - or a potentially harmful item at the cost of a VT - even a VT whose game play and opinions I value as much as Alanna's.

I'm going to finish my catch up but will almost certainly be voting Alanna today.

Depends on natural action resolution. If she received it last night, would she have received it BEFORE Nolder/Arsis' investigation? In typical NAR, the answer is yes though as "inspect" is usually the last step.

I'm not sure that you are but your thoughts come across as genuine and show an active interest in resolving a problem rather than just damning a result. Basically, I'm saying you are playing well/smart and I don't see this post coming from a scum POV.

[v]Alanna[/v]

Sorry, Alanna, but there are too many pieces in play here for me to even take a chance on everything you are saying being true and this situation still coming up in Town's favor. If you are Town? At least die knowing you died to save the Town. And that seems especially appropriate on Easter Sunday.

Alanna is L-1.

If you are going to hammer her please at least do us the courtesy of explaining exactly why you think this is the best play.

Anyone know of a good potato based Vodka? It's the only kind I'm allowed to bring into the office next week.

How did I not see this??

Chopin. Polish Potato Vodka? What? That's right. It's the boss.

Ummm, Aren't all vodka potato based?

No, but they should be.

Two words: Tall Blond

Best. Vodka. Ever.

We had a blind taste test and figured I was a shoe in with my Chopin? That Tall Blond WRECKED. Smooth. Slightly sweet. Kind of REFRESHING? Just insanely good.

Blasphemy.  I refuse to believe it.  I should be able to find that in MA right?

All we're doing is going in circles

Welcome to my world since the start of D2.

I'm curious, what 'something new' did you learn about Sili this game, if learning about how to read him is something you were actively trying to do? I didn't get the vibe that that's what you were doing.

Essentially, I have no problem with you not changing your vote if you were certain, but the fact that you voted him as early as you did is concerning, especially when you contrast that action here, after his flip, with your assertion that you find him hard to read.

Would you say you found Sili hard to read this game? Or that you simply got him wrong?

Gah. I'm tired and your contradictions are hurting my head.

I learned that Sili literally cannot towntell to save his life and that he can react with apathy in situations where I don't expect it.  In the past, he's always said at least some things that I can understand and/or agree with.  I voted him early on a lark.  Then I kept my vote there when he started scumming it up all over the thread. Before Sili's flip, I would not have said I found him hard to read this game.  Afterwards, it has become quite obvious that I did.

The bold was a new thing for you?

Yes.  He's always come off as a bit scummy and cryptic to me, but I've always been able to see at least some townieness.

I read the times wrong. I thought it was like an hour.

[v]Arsis[/v]

That sounds benign to me, and not in any way anti-town. Creepy girl wins regardless of the alignment of the doll holder. We just need to get the doll to a scum, and then lynch them. Win-win. Question is does whoever gave Alanna the doll think she's scum?

On Epicmafia, when any 3rd party wins, the game automatically ends, meaning town loses.  Kaylee probably isn't doing it that way this game, but I see no reason to let some 3rd party with questionable motives screw up our game.  We have no way of knowing Alanna's alignment other than from what Arsis has told us.  And i don't trust him at all.

I didn't know that. My only experience with 3rd party wins (not counting survivor) is jester. When they win, the game continues.
