I don't necessarily agree with the "let's not lynch slankers/people not playing" since scum do that here all the time - I remember a scum sweep happening two or three games ago (Firefly?) where it was Tommy and literally the lowest three posters who didn't get lynched because "not enough information".

 

With that said I have Pral as pretty firmly null, I think there's probably a few players I'd rather see deaded than him.

Though I'm not SO confident as to say "the wolves are in there" but I feel like I'm getting there

jmm had two things that pulled me different ways

 

A) his scum list was somewhat consensus-y of players that aren't really being townread (Sili/Sleeper where the first two IIRC) but I think he had two others that were sort of random so not sure what I'm seeing there - would love elaboration!

 

B) he said something like "scum try to act super townie to start the game!" which is the sort of ideology i try to fight since it really isn't applicably true here from experience, but he said that YET said very little about me and monstr - players who are generally absurdly villagery villagers and like rambling about how town they are. so i don't really see the logical connection if that's his mindset reading the thread.

If Cory wants to ask me to #solve because he gets stumped I'll give it a shot later, not right now though

I can't speak for anyone else, but his posts are pretty lame to the extent he made them, and then he left. Apparently he never posts, so I'm voting him so he'll post. 

 

I can put this a different way. Would you prefer to vote only among the people who are actually trying?

Keep coming with posts like that and you'll tip over in the minus pile, just FIY. I know it's your first time and I don't know how much your mentor is around, but you should be less concerned with how others perceive you and more concerned with how you percieve others. Don't be afraid to contribute, even though you're unfamiliar with the players and forum mafia. Dive right and we'll all have a much nicer time :)

You've got me in that I've never played forum mafia, but I can't agree with you about other's perception. It's pretty much everything.  I may not have shared my perceptions on others yet, but trust me, I've got them.  With no impending lynch or deadline, I see no reason to divulge what I'm thinking yet.  

 

 

Right now it is way more important for you to share your own thoughts about people, so that the town can clear you as town. Town need to work together; be as open and clear as possible to let other townies read them correctly, the more solid town can trust each other the easier it is to find the mafia. So there's a very big reason for why you should divulge what you're thinking IMO. That's how others are able to read you.

 

Everyone is going to try to come across as town… isn't this is a given?  If getting cleared as town was as easy as posting your thoughts, everyone would get cleared all quick like since they're all trying to come across as town.  Not following the logic here...

 

I have my suspicions and will share them when needed, but right now they're not needed.  It's early.

 

 

Nonono. Mafia will try to come across as town. Town will be town. And as town, you're vocal, clear, open, honest, because you have a twofold goal; let other townies know you are town, and try to find mafia. Town needs to work together to find mafia. It's always easiest to trust those who come across as transparent in their thinking. What you're doing now, is mafia behaviour. You're being evasive, you're talking about semantics, instead of putting your thought process out there. You're being very anti town right now.

 

Getting cleared as town by posting thoughts. This si because, when you post your thoughts, others can see if they seem legitimate or not. Let's give an example. If I don't give a single read now, I can join in on whatever train takes off, saying "yeah this person was in my headlight for a while". Gives me a free pass to vote whoever I wish whenever. But, if I constantly post my reads and thoughts, I'm locked in. That means I cannot suddenly turn around and vote Tina if I've been saying all of D1 that I think she's town. Mafia wants to keep their options to vote every townie. Thus their reads are usually vague and they thow dirt all over the place. A townie wants to clear as many as possible and let others know their thought process so they can find mafia. Get the difference yet?

 

Remember, it's only the first Day you have a newbie pass. If you don't step up soon, you'll be a very tempting D2 lynch with this attitude. Because it just aint townie.

 

 

 

 

 

now for personal commentary..... since i have not played with most of you my take on things is slightly different then the general consensus in the game so far. 

 

CoryMish (mostly cory) has spent time in claiming/declaring almost 1/3 of the players as villagers (tina, monstr, dice, pral, and a repetition of these claims again and again). and has only gone after Tommy as mafia. This may come from the fact that he has played with these players extensively and knows how they play to make what i consider strong claims especially when he is talking about his town reads.

Cory's specialty is identifying townies. He is very good at it.

I think we're all supposed to think this post is crazy town-y, but the reality is it's a post ABOUT taking hard stances.

 

And then there aren't any hard stances.

 

I will note that my suspicious about this - which aren't SIGNIFICANT, but do exist - are blunted somewhat by the fact that when I called out monstr for posting nothing useful mish actually figured out whether he'd posted more than me, and after verifying his contribution level came at me about how he'd presumably contributed more. That would be kind of a clever mafia move when it's so easy to just use superior information that you already have instead of FINDING MORE to make fun of me.

 

Still, this is kind of an uncomfortable post.

I read through his three games on the forum and came to a conclusion myself.

 

I am pretty curious. I think Tommy/monstr/Tina all had him in their villager lists.

So, quick QUESTION SESSION: Why do you have Err as a villager? What do you think he's done that Mafia wouldn't do?

well let's see, he tracked almost every vote in the game, he then collected them in a post for everyone, then re-did it for readability, then commented on like 5 players in somewhat significant detail, then proposed an unlikely lynch list of me and Tom, and in-between that made genuine inquiries that reveal the lack of outside information, and mostly cleared himself on effort

These gambits have grown tiresome.

 

Yates is here, good. I was wondering if Hallia didn´t dare to talk much before consulting Yates.

Part of the reason I'm hydraing with Hally is because she doesn't post much by default. She looked awesome in Krak's game while Cory was around. Too bad she was scum. :( Still, I want to see that kind of effort from Hally Town and I'm hoping to see if I can encourage that. The proof will be in the pudding, I guess. At least you guys will have my posts to make up for any breaks in the action.

 

I don't see a problem with letting a survivor live for a few days.

This is a basic/standard game and small. There is no survivor role in this game. If there were, I'd treat a survivor claim as a scum claim because there's zero incentive for a survivor to vote with the Town if the Town falls behind - especially in a game with likely little room for error.

 

Since I exist, there are 2 wolves in this game.

This is why fake claiming here is anti-Town, fwiw. Town starts making false assumptions about balance if they choose to believe you.

 

I think I might put Lenlo in light green for his MQ but probably am not moving Yates

In this Cthulu game as Mafia he posted the same sort of lists - I was wondering if people were clearing him for his lists like it was something he wouldn't bother to do as a wolf

 

But it's not only how anti-consensus his reads are, it's how big his WTL list is. As Mafia he had his aggressive moments but usually plucked at the same 2-3 targets (in that game AJ and Lily IIRC) over and over and sort of just trying to get movement that way. His reasoning was usually borrowed.

 

He's thinking independently and that's something I did not see much of the Cthulu game but saw a lot of in his village games

1) Not really. You're greatest strength as a villager is that you can SOMETIMES clear yourself through effort but you're still well within your range so I don't know what scum are scared of. If you're town they probably see you two as a mislynch.

 

2) What did I mean? I meant your slot is a problem and still is a problem.

 

3) As for salivating? That's not really how I operate. I barely paid any attention to the scum game with Hallia and quit during Day 1... What game were you paying attention to?

 

I can soulread Hallia as town sometimes, but nothing close so far and that's usually an issue. I'd be happy to lynch your slot today outright.
