Hey folks.

Catching up, getting a grip etc.

maybe i read too much into the intro, but it seems that the female character is plotting revenge. Therefore 1 player leading scumteam, female player more likely.

Or, my meds are messing with me and i see ghosts

What? Why the hell would the flavour indicate a person of any gender would receive any particular role? This is implying that @Mod didn't randomize roles across the entire playerbase, you do realize? Also the Verabl buddying is a little obvious.

The down side of being Leelou's hydra partner is that now I can't follow up on my policy lynch promise.

The plus side of being Leelou's hydra partner is that now I can follow up on my Cory AND Hally policy lynch promises with a single vote!

[v]HalCore[/v]

Huzzah!

Sorry for rustles, will be on best behavior

This pinged. Both, actually. @Yates for policy talk which is gross, @cory for promising to lay low?

nver read the book, perhaps should have. Thanks Yates, there goes my theory.....

Wow so yeah, you thought mod roled a female character to a female player?

Really?

I'm going to pretend Verbal has town cred for coming out strong and "scumhunting" but I'm really suspicious of him jumping on something small so soon.

Also this. While Verb's push is genuine, it's seems just a little too strong for the evidence at hand. But I'm leaning toward that being excited by a potential scumread.

@Sili and @Tommy are null at the moment but being involved, which is a plus. Is Tommy normally this ...this?

@Desp entry - wow. Ok. Ping for you too. But later Desp proves to be Despish by most accounts so, egh.

@Cory - Heavy defense noted. But I always have trouble reading through emotion and tend to write it off as scum. But hydra halli makes me wonder especially given-

@Yates' cheering of Halli, which seems... friendly. I don't like friendly.

@manbat handing out town reads like candy. Forms a list. I didn't really question it until I realised very little of the reads had reasons. Hrmm.

~4 Wolves in

Pral

Alanna

Rags

Arsis

Yates

Key

Dice

Berf

So let's try to clear half this list and lunch from the rest

Shouldn't be too hard

This post is especially nonsense. 4 wolves in 3/4 of the game. Most of those people haven't posted yet. This is what you post ad scum to pretend scum hunt.

+1. Though it should be noted that I'm on this list, so my objection is probably implied.

It's not AtE when Yates literally will not speak to him.

Oh is he asking me stuff? I have him on ignore.

That's certainly one way to play the game where talking to people is kind of the point.

If he is your scumread, then you would want him to keep talking day 1 surely, in case something slips? either way, you've ruled out the possibility of him being town by refusing to engage, limiting your effectiveness for town.

Right so.

Townish on Verb, Tommy, sili, desp despite myself and maybe halli. p-edit and now Allana.

Scummish on Cory (But the halli play hrmm), Yates and Thane. The mod handing out roles like that is pretty damn unheard of. I'd vote Thane out of the two of them.

Nothing much else has stood out. Apart from the fact that this is on page 34 already jesus krak what have you gotten me into.

Yeah I can see why he has some votes. Pretty bad post right here. Bad tone in opener, pot calling the kettle black somewhat in that he gives out a number of reads without explaining them well, and imo his scum reads are very poorly justified or supported. For instance his main thing against Thane is the admittedly bad logic of role distribution, but how does using that fail logic make Thane scummy? Berf points that out three times but never actually explains the scummy angle to it, looks like opportunistic scum jumping on a townie mistake imo. Weird that he has Hallia as town and Cory as scum then hedges that read so easily, yet leaves Cory as scum read. "Nothing much else has stood out" is also kinda bad tone, doesn't really jive with the rest of the post imo since it seems more like he was cherry picking things to point out, not covering much even tho it was a fairly lengthy post

Obv you'd like to have more to go on than one post, but that one post IS pretty bad so meh

Key was scum in Nyn's Buffy game, I believe. That was in Thak, though, and I think you have to be a member of Shayol Ghul to see Thak now, which I am not. What I remember about Key in that game is that she looked super townie to me all game lol. So I'm feeling not very confident about reading her.

She's made some posts that aren't wrong but don't really do anything for me -- busywork is how I'd put it. BFG dislikes being scum IIRC so being busy might be a convenient reason to avoid the duties of the wolf den.

Well hey if you lynch me then scum gets two townies for the price of one!

Almost too good to pass up.

Did you already claim Lover or something?

How many claims are there btw?

What sucks is last time Tommy hinted at/claimed PR early D1 like this he was town... but dear God it's still such a domb move and hard for me to believe Tommy would keep making the same turrible mistake.

Of course the flip side is he could be abusing his meta here and doing this on purpose BECAUSE he claimed PR early as town recently.

Yeah, still a good lynch imo.

I think it's pretty alarming AJ's progression on Tommy is:

Tom you do this thing early in the game where you make me feel happy and confident about you.

And then I'm forced through staged of grief when the game is over.

Disbelief

Denial

Regret

and lastly, and worst, remorse.

Idk if I can take it again <\3

(60 pages later)

Normally I would say to myself "this is Villager Tom trying to discern my alignment"

But now I have to say "this is Villager Tom trying to discern my alignment. Or this is Wolf Tom trying to look like he's discerning my alignment"

Is problem.

Like this AJ's first time around the block with Tommy

Considering Tom's actually a wagon today for ??? reasons I think AJ is a good deal > rand wolf. Just seems to be "oh well Tommy's a good wolf so obviously I'm going to flounder on him a lot" which might have seemed natural after the VS game but at this point seems redundant past the point of being genuine

Seems like he's keeping himself open for a Tommy vote later

Good point and I could see this. Vote on Arsis seemed pretty sketchy too. Could roll with a CFD on AJ

And I think it should have gone without saying that Tommy isn't the kind of player you blue read easily early on and then never look at again- that's just asking for disaster.

Also think it's cute how many people think they can read me easily early on as well, even tho I've recently burned a lot of yall as scum as well.

To be frank that's why I'm meh on the Arsis lynch- I agree with what he's saying about the "core" thing in principle, that misclearing people actually should be treated as a bigger deal. Tommy has been wrong on Manbat recently, and yet instead of mentioning this he's still pretty happy to rely 100% on his meta read on him. I think POE is a strong tool, but someone shouldn't necessarily be cleared for meta just because they do something scummy all the time as town.

I think after Manbat modded the last VS game which featured a laugher of a scum sweep, he wouldn't be NEARLY as quick to sponge Tommy and Cory as he has been this game. I find that wolfy myself.

Right now I'm just hoping that some crazy drama starts going down and people start melting down with one another and force the thread to be locked for a while so I can have a decent amount of time to catch up on everything I've missed

Any volunteers?

Oh and I got the Manbat posts pulled, will prob wait till later to post my analysis of them. I don't have him locked in as scum, but I def don't find him to be nearly as townish as others seem to, and if he's town he's gotta learn to real in the defensiveness anyways

I'm not changing the way I play just because you find it scummy for literally no good reason

I've reported three of tommy's posts already for profanity. That could cause some drama if he gets banned while still active in a game.

I'd say I have extremely good reason to find your play scummy. When you're town you don't usually get cleared for WIM and scumhunting effectiveness and track record, you get cleared because of emo outbursts, and whether they're either genuine seeming or seem more fake or overblown.

That's... not good town play. Getting defensive at the drop of a hat .... isn't good town play. Focusing so much on yourself you end up not commenting on much else besides how town you are... isn't good town play. Sensing a theme here?
