You're going on ignore for the rest of the game so I don't have to read the nonsense you spew anymore.

Do it if you will.

I don't think I've shown any disrespect to you. Ignoring a player is anti town behaviour but it's your call.

If you have any problem with my play, please contact the mods.

The reason I don't think notes are inherently clearing is that the thought process can easily be faked and "committed to" -- it's not vastly different from committing to your thought process like any other form of thread play, except you're always behind the flow of the thread and that's what's troubling.

I haven't found your notes to be particularly deep or well developed. I would rather you just talk.

Csarmi - in around page 58 or so, why are you running interference on Des questioning Hally?  You made it obvious that you don't think she's lock Town so it's not like you thought this was scum attacking a clear villager.  In fact, you call his points valid which indicates that he's doing stuff to solve a slot yet you are blocking for no apparent reason.

"Hally, Despo's points on you looking sketchy are valid. Right now i cannot tell whether it's cause you never really got into the flow here or cause you are a wolf."

What's up with that?

I'm getting there.

Alright I asked the mods and it is apparently okay to discuaa formatting.

So I will just ask you all to please not use it. It's not only an unreliable method to get anywhere because of DM forum engine doew weird things but also it's hardly sporting.

My humbl3 opinion.

I can see this and I think this also supports why rereads can be so invaluable, and shows why people like Csarmi and Tommy spamming the living hell out of threads can actually be pretty antitown

This is gross. You may call me spammy. Cause i tend to post thought by thought and mobile catchups and me being much bettet playing in the flow. I am chatty.

But Tom doesn't spam. And also this coming from you with your usual wot (sometimes just unreadable spam and almost always using three times as many words as necessary) is lulwot.

Tom does spam.  He hasn't done it much this game though.

I am stubborn I know. But I decided not to let such fluff fly becauae i learned that lots of people just cant or wont read back and that if blqck is called white in the radio every morning, people start believing it.

No one who has spoken on the subject agrees with you regarding your actions surrounding Hallia.  This is not some sort of 1984 Newspeak type scenario.  This is just you refusing to own up to your actions.

Psst. Despo gonna berate you. Now we're also buddying.

No, you weren't.  You were chatting.  But your preemptive shot at Des here is both gratuitous and scummy.  Reads like scum paranoia with a healthy dose of anti-spew.

IF he has other suspects, he's not really showing willingness to lynch them...

Pretty sure Des was/is willing to lynch me.

Well, nobody but you is around when i'm online, and just posting for the sake of posting... nah.. i prefer to interact in game. Which is hard to do on your own (but could be funny is done right)

This is not a valid excuse.  Plenty of people have spent most of their time catching up this game.  They still manage to post substance.  You should too.

- So Thane, did you change your opinions since last time?

- Umm, no, not really. Here's what i think about people's alignments for the moment:

Town: AJ, Thane, Leelou, Des, Alanna, Yates,  Nyn, Sili, Tommy

Nulls: SickPuppets, Verbal,  Pral, Csarmi, Womby

Scum: Hallia, Clov

- Whoa there... your scum pile grew less, and you ave more nulls. Why is that?

- Well, people i thought were more likely to be scum have me hesitating now. Not going to say they're town, but more null. Null people are either absent or players i'm still trying to figure out.

- Ok, now... you haven't voted yet. Why is that?

- Deadline isn't untill tomorrow, so there's still time. Plus, should i vote now, and ,due to circumstances, wouldn't be able to get back online, i wouldn't park my vote on someone.

- You're just waiting to hammer, you filthy scoundrel!

- nope, just waiting to see how the game develops during EOD phase so perhaps i can move some nulls into another pile.

- Yeaaah.... riiigghhht.....

- Oh gods, i'm argueing with myself....

- Nah, i'm someone else...

- Shush you

This post is just weird.  The argument with yourself suggests that you are more worried about defending your views than expressing them.  It also expresses a level of comfort with cognitive dissonance this game that I find disturbing.

Formatting in Thene's post is weird.

No.  Don't.  Please.

Who is around right now?  I need to take a break from catching up on the spam in here and chat in real time.

When I go into rambling talking to myself rants like Thane did I am usually a villager who is done with the game or a wolf who is trolling and thinks it looks too wolfy to be wolfy.

Hope that narrows it down for ya.

Looking forward to seeing Yates' theory on how to read me

I kind of hinted at it in my notes. As with Tommy, I have to recognize that you have a different [abbrasive] approach to the game. With you it's hard to tell when you are being snarky because you think someone is scummy and when you are being snarky for the sake of being snarky. I try to keep that in mind when I read you now. That's why I characterized your "attack" on Thane the way I did early on. Kind of like what you did with Hally later. Instead of going "man! that's scummy!" I just went "welp. des being des." So by not making you dig your way out of a scum hole for your particular posting style I feel like I might be able to get a better read on you. I'll find out later how good this has been and it's possible it will blow up in my face but for now I'm actually pretty good with this.

I'm gonna say this so it's clear. I've had people go at me in another game for using the 'who's online' function to see who's online when they claim on thread they're not around. Now I'm getting crap for noticing formatting oddities. Nothing about this is outside of the spirit of the game IMO ergo if I notice it, I'm ALWAYS gonna point it out.

Did I go on full attack mode on Thane over it? declared him certain scum and changed my vote to him. No, I didn't.

So grow up.

Csarmi and Tommy - can you talk to me about Sili for a bit? I want to call him Town but I second guess myself. A perfect example of what I mean is the conversation Tommy and Sili were having wrt my catch up notes. It seemed odd to me that Sili was so "intuitive" with how he read me. At first I was like "yeah! This guy gets me!" Then I was like "wait. HOW does this guy get me? We've never played together..."

While real-time interaction is valuable, I think you place too much emphasis on it.  This is forum mafia, not chat mafia.  And we have multiple timezones.  You're gonna have to read players after the fact to some degree.

Wombat why should i care how many people agree with me on whether 2+2 is 5?

This isn't a mathematical equation, Salami.  It's a highly subjective situation, which means that opinion matters.  While you shouldn't change your opinion solely based on consensus, I would think that an overwhelming consensus against you should make you hesitate at least slightly.  At the very least, it should make your drop the black/white rhetoric since it's quite clear that the "defense" contention is at the very least, a valid interpretation.

I had a null to confusing read on Hally at that point. I saw Despo questioning her and read the repliew. I was pretty sure this way of questioning would not yield results at the time (i think i know Hally enough and Despo too). If you consider the situation (saturday almost night, Hally being through the week she had, the way Hally works - you did mentor her so you would know this) you'll see why. I'm pretty sure my assessment was right. And my appproach did yield results.

What concerns me is that several people in this game has enough knowledge of the players in question that they would know this and i dont see anyone speaking up and backing me up there. It's as if everyone went mad or I did. Very frustrating.

I wouldn't defend Hally there cause i didnt have a town read on her (i only defend town reads period).

It was pro town to interfere so I die. That's all.

I don't really care too much about whether this particular tactic is kosher or not.  It's unreliable.  DM has been known to change formatting for myriad reasons, not just copy/pasting from a QT.

It is known? Really?  Funny considering I've been on the site for... well... lets say a long time.... and I never had it happen to my posts even once.

But hey.... since it's known.

Posted

No Wombat it's not a valid interpretation cause it makes absolutely no sense.

So you think that everyone who has posted on the topic besides yourself has taken leave of their senses?  How plausible is that.  I understand that you are stubborn and rigid, but it seems pretty ridiculous that you couldn't even understand what other people are thinking here.

I dunno.

I disliked his opening. I liked a lot of his interjections and his tone in general something just appeals to me there but I'm not exactly sure.

I am not sure why people have difficulty reading him FYI, i don't...

I did not get that vibe that you say. I shall have to reread for that. Do you mean he just seems too good?
