I'm confused as to why Salami followed Clov and then unvoted before Clov clarified what he was trying to do.

@Verb yes that's what it means.

Is your post there answering mine above?

I'm confused as to why Salami followed Clov and then unvoted before Clov clarified what he was trying to do.

I followed Clov cause i thought we saw the same thing there. Then i read back up and it turned out i remembered wrong.

Then came Clov and explained he didn't see that either.

Throwing kindle on fire are we?

No, asking questions.  You were pretty quick to jump on that vote, and it made me wonder.  I'm curious as to what Leelou thinks about this, actually.

Now that the cat's out of the bag, I'll obviously have to wait to clear her until she chooses to be more active in the hunt, rather than getting dragged in.  Gambit busted.  Thanks, Nyn.

I'm underwhelmed.

Really, I haven't seen much of anything.  In addition to what Nyn already said about our conversation yesterday, she should be more than willing to confirm that I told her I associate Leelou being snarky with her scum game, since I saw a lot of it in ABBA.  Nyn told me she's that way regardless of alignment.  Probably true, but I have minimal experience with Town!Leelou.  But I've seen a little bit of it here.

Content wise, I couldn't even begin to form a read on her.  She has a couple posts of gameplay, but it's nothing I can really analyze her from.

Overall, I think it's perfectly reasonable for me to have SOME concern about her.  Again - serious push worthy?  Not at all.  But enough to make me try a move.

First time I've ever had a woman tell me that.  You'll get over it, though.

Tommy, any thoughts on Verbal?

My knowledge of Verbal is he thinks he's super sexy awesome but isn't because he rarely tries until after D2 or D3. When we were scumbros he never ramped up and bit into the game and it as very apparent. I'll be looking for that.

No Verb, my post was answering your question to Nyn (rand to be is often us instead of >rand to be).

And your "question" sounds like the subtle pushing/throwing dirt I tend to catch you on when you're scum.

Posted

@Clov - lol i associate Lee being snarky (ans especially having a real bite) with her town game. So that's probably a complete null.

Do you mean "greater than random"?

I don't understand what's the difference....

I may have misunderstood.  To me, "rand to be town" is the same as "rand to be scum".  It is random; therefore, equal chance for either.

But ">rand" means more likely, so I was thinking you were saying she's likely town, but didn't use the ">".  Again, maybe I misunderstood.

Everytime i caught him as scum (and couldn't use it on account of dying shortly after and town not following my read) was that he actually did get serious on d1 and did subtle train manipulation and convrersation manipulation (like my example coukd be there) . I tend to be not confident in my read on him all the time however even though i dont even remember me bwing wrong about him.

Clov, how does a scum!Tommy tend to operate? How do you read him?

I'm not an expert because I think I've only seen him scum three times, but in the most recent game here, he was more playful early on.  He still posted a lot and had a lot of game-related posts, but he felt more...lively?  I'm not sure how to explain it.

Playing wise, he was pretty happy to nudge cases he knew were wrong.  Scumteam was him, me, and Nyn/Hallia hydra.

Been thinking about Rand's rage vote on me, apparently using a situation from another game as a reason.

At first, I chose not to respond to it and fight the urge to OMGUS vote.

Then, I ate an orange.  Tasted good, but then my hands were sticky.  And not stick in the fun way.

Washed my hands.  Dried them.   Thought about the good ole days.

But then that nagging suspicion crept back into my noggin.

Why would Rand need to go to such lengths to justify his vote in this game?  Sure, day 1 randomness is random but.....he placed his vote on a player he felt no one would question his motives on.  Why....that would require a preset guilty conscience BEFORE he posted.

So.....@Rand.  Why the need to OVER justify your reason for voting me?

Adding to this, I didn't like him talking on Drunk's behalf by saying Drunk is "probably just used to playing on more serious sites."

How would he know that? Dude hasn't played here before. Did he read his old games? If so, he should be talking about them.

Weird.

Here, he obviously knew Mynd was wrong about Drunk, but he still found a few things to nitpick and help Mynd along.

Avenue of Productive Discussion.

Day One will almost always result in the lynching of a townie simply because of odds (we all know this). My focus thus far has not been so much on the discussion between Clov, Vos, and RandA. I've been more watching those lurking.

Scum will participate early on just enough and let town lynch town. I have a tendency/prefer to lynch lurkers.

This is DM. We tend to lynch scum on D1 around here.

So what do you think of those who didn't participate much so far?

I'm rereading at the moment.

But I will place my vote on either Lenlo or Darthe.

If you could advance the case against Darthe and say...get him to L-1...I'd hammer.

Darthe, ^ ?

Probing for a response on something that was being perceived as relatively scummy (Chinese symbol's comment about running Darthe up so he could hammer).

But stay tuned for TG to shred my case to shreds by shredding it!!!! When he gets back from [reason for delay] so he can start shredding!

If it was terribad, why not just say why now?

/me begins to hold breath.

It's called work. I had a meeting and knew it would take time to properly ridicule respond to your "case".

*popcorn*

Wasn't the "popcorn" comment mentioned by Vos earlier about scumtell?

Mynd thinks TG is lock scum. Mynd's case on TG is a bit contrived but TG's reaction to it was bad. Considering I've agreed with Mynd several times so far ITG and I've noticed TG has felt a bit... erratic... I think we might have something here. But more due to unnatural emotional states than the semantics argument Mynd was forwarding.

Scummy follow-on to Mynd's bad case (that you yourself called bad) is scummy. Ping.

Forgot to vote in that MQ [unvote][v]salami[/v]

Solid catch up post Darthe (more the MQ one right before this). I like it.

TG, in the above, I don't understand what you don't understand about my issue with you.

Mynd's case was a reach but your reaction to it is suspect.

A player I know from another site is quite good at reading people based on their emotional states. Yours has been hard to relate to, from the contradiction of spamming and serious I mentioned earlier to the almost cartoonish "you're toast, buster!" response to Mynd.

If you're town and want me to read you as such, attacking me for correctly identifying odd behavior from you isn't the way to go about it.

Maybe get me some butter?

Here, Tom admits the case that Mynd made towards TG wasn't very good, but he still found a reason to push TG from it.

My take is that he doesn't like people getting clear, so he really tries to further other people's cases and make the playing field look bad so mislynches can go more easily.  With my "case" on Leelou, he seemed to be doing the opposite.  Unless he was just trying to get me to elaborate so he can find the proper form to piggback, it doesn't really fit.

That she didn't have a confidence/ bite.

Ie. "rand" is starting to mean "likely".

I think that is silly.  We should use the words that make sense, not create new definitions.

@Salami - this is kinda my point.  No manipulation from me - I was asking a question.

Sorry Salami, I still don't like your answer.  But I give you credit for not doing the "sorry my bad" thing, so there's that.

Which made me go oooh Clov might just be right there let's pursue that.

Except on reread she did have confidence and there was no reason to bite yet.

Posted

@Verbal - that is how languages evolve however, whether you like it or not. People tend to associate and abbreviate and somehow the unlikely part of a phrase is that remains.

For example in hungarian we also use S.O.S.

Except its meaning kind of changed by now. You see when you say that you probably need "urgent help". Now it's starting to mean just "urgent".
