Vos what inspired you to make the case post? Which post set you off?

 

Popcorn post. I wanna put my money where my mouth was. But right then and there I didn't really recall Tsuki early-game so I went back to see if I was onto something. The game has turned pretty serious now so "popcorn-as-a-joke"-vote would mess up game-flow. "popcorn-as-a-scum-tell" seemed to be working again though. Feel confident where my vote is for now.

Thread flow is the best way of finding scum, IMO. However, you stated point b as though it were a meta argument over several games, not as a thread flow statement. You are actively recharacterizing you posts. Scumtastic.

You talked about Tsuki's posts being meta, and then seemed to recharacterize when I responded to say that you were actually talking about thread flow.  Are we talking about different points here?

 

As for going HAM, I know you're voting Darthe, but your level of engagement with me is very different from that with Darthe and Tress.

The more intensity behind it the more likely it's town/town or town/scum. Scum/scum don't go ham on each other. So is Tsuki town or scum? I'm reading him as town because he was pretty cocky to tell me my own role is a scum role if he's scum and knows I'm not. So I know he likes to catch people in gotchas. The red PM thing, as Lenlo wrote It, appeared to be a gotcha. He got excited. I understand that. Then he's all flabbergasted about how people see him as scummy for it after that when he was just excited to catch a scum in a lie. That's how I see it. So he reads town to me. So who are the people popping in to vote him? So far the largest wagons have been me (town) and Tsuki (town) and both just kind of exploded in short time. Is it possible town is just eviscerating itself? Sure! Tress could be town, you could be, Len could be, Vos could be. But is it likely there's scum blending in on these wagons? Yes. Darthe on mine, maybe Vos on Tsuki's? The way Vos conveniently had a case for Tsuki right as the wagon was picking up steam struck me. But tress popping in to question Tsuki while heat was on him bothered me too.

 

This could all be town violence, or Tsuki could be scum and he's getting owned and I'm an idiot, but I note the flow and who appears to be talking advantage of it without getting themselves dirty.

i wasn't playing games with my PM's.  i was reaching out to those i got town vibes from on thread to try and use the outside communication as a tool to sniff out scum.  but i also wasn't laying all my cards on the table with them yet because it was Dawn0 and my reads were all gut based soon into a game.

 

i was being cautious.

 

if i was playing games i would have been a lot more brazen in my PMs then i was and PMd a lot more people.

It's a counter-claim until/if Red confirms she DID send these PMs. Then we get HER input on why she felt the urge to give different lists to different people. GREAT info, like I said.

Except this wasn't two people arguing. It was two people potentially catching another player in a lie (but I don't think it is anyway). His reaction, while poorly written, makes sense in a "yes, busted scum ahahahaha!" way.

Why are you reading Tsuki with the mindset that he is town? Do you know he is town? Only explanation for your behavior, which means that if your second claim after the first claim is true, then I should drop it. But it's too late already in that case.

 

I'm treating Tsuki as town because

 

a) he's been around all morning talking to me and pushing the fact that my character should be scum as if he found something he really believed in

 

b) I remember him as a scummy townie in past games and he sometimes has good tone

 

c) he's catching a lot of heat early, with people like Tress popping in to take jabs at him. That has me on alert.

 

 

"Popping in to take jabs" at Tsuki isn't a fair characterization.  Tsuki wants commentary on the PM issue.  I put in my 2 cents, which is that I don't see it as a counterclaim issue, I see it as Red playing games behind the scenes by sending two people the same PM.  I sincerely doubt she'll say any different, and I see no reason why anyone would lie about her telling them they are her #1 town read.

 

The fact that Red sent anyone a PM during Dawn saying that she HAD town reads should be more alarming than her sending two of them.

 

OOC: i'm changing my style from finding everyone scum to actually trying to find town and scum regardless of alignment.  you'll see that after a few games, but for now i get why you think that given my meta and Despos game.

Tommy vibed town due to meta reasons.  his entire play screamed town to me (this was before the galactic stuff, but by that time i'd already PMd him).  his vibe here matched with Hoofs game and Despos, so i trust my gut on him even with all the galactic stuff.

 

Len gave me good vibes from how he handled the PR with me.  he coulda used it to screw me over or as a defacto silencer but he didnt.  instead he was straight up with it in the PM, even letting me know what name he was posting and when so i wouldn't miss it.  i think scum would have acted differently and tried to silence me tbh to use it as a way to get town cred  (i mean if you could muzzle me and did, everyone would pat you on the back and town cred the shit out of you)

 

the lack of manipulation on this town vibed with me.

 

 

seeing the open communication aspect i reached out to them, not expecting them to trust me but to at least extend the olive branch and get communication established so that later on it would be useful for scum hunting.  kinda like what Cory did in Nyn's buffy game, just with more reservation and not so balls to the walls.
