Could be I'm seen as a good push because there are players here that are unfamiliar with me. Most of the players I have multiple games of experience with are clearing me.

Not TG though! You scoundrel!

I always tend to start out thinking you're town.  Mainly because of the way you play, you engage and ask questions, and seem to legit scum hunt.  Even if you're not town, you generate enough conversation to glean good info from.

Oh right that was a longish quote.

Some funny, some serious stuff in here, too lazy to individually spoiler out each quote

UNOFFICIAL VC

BFArmi-(1/7)-Darthe
Tommy-(2/7)-, NotBob, TG
TG-(1/7)-Mynd
RandA lThor-(1/7)-Lenlo
Lenlo-(1/7)-Drunk Tank,
NotBob-(1/7)-Tommy
BFArmi-(1/7)-Vos

Not Voting(4/12)- Clov, Nynlia, RandA lThor, BFArmi

12 Alive, takes 7 to Lynch

Interesting that after all this hullabaloo, there is only one train larger than a vote.  I feel like myself among others pointing out that scum will try to get an easy bw going may have changed this, since this is a very unusual situation in d1 after joke vote phase.

If you want to see his previous games, he's Jetscode1 on the JetNation mafia forum.

The only recent meta I have of him, in terms of what he's like as town and scum, isn't that useful cause he was SK in the game I played with him.  However, he does joke around like this, so the way he's playing isn't too out of the ordinary.

I don't get your Tommy vote though JC/NB, can you give me a solid reason?

Yes, he's scum.  Kinda like the opposite of a tumbleweed.

-.- Don't remind me.

@Rand - Regarding the not lynching a new player on D1, I stand by it (short of them posting their scum QT or something ridiculous).  New players should be given a fair chance to learn the culture and a D1 lynch on your first game isn't.  Drunk is fair game D2 as far as I'm concerned.  And given how out of sync he is with the thread, as BFG mentioned, he is on my scum list.

As far as I knew this was DM mafia common courtesy and has been an unwritten rule for a long time.

So far as I knew, it's new players, like...new to mafia in general.  Drunkie has said he's not new to forum mafia, and as that I feel should be fair game, as TG says (<3 Drunkie I love you already! )

Tommy and Vos are my two top town reads atm.

 to the first quote.

To the second, can you expound on why they are your townreads?

As an aside, I have in my hands what is likely the most delicious burger I've ever had. It's a reuben burger, cooked just right. I hate when the meat is overcooked.

Tommy not to sound arrogant, but that POG sounds pretty obvious.  If mafia get a hand in the lynch, which they usually do in d1, then thats what they would want.

Red: I never voted for ya. I've had you as possible scum for what I read as feigned emotion, but I haven't gone after it yet because:

A) You're a pretty sharp guy and would be an asset to town if you are town

B) I haven't yet utilized the emotional reading method I picked up from my friend and was hoping to get a flip or two to see how it works for me before condemning someone for it.

Blue: The way my last couple games have gone here, I made an active decision to be more level headed and analytical in my approach, hence my non-emotional pact. So while you are probably right I sound arbiter-y, it's decidedly not scummy -> I'm actively encouraging people to talk and give reads. You know, the same thing you did when you demanded people act serious?

Are you scum? This seems like it came out of nowhere, and the timing is interesting given the current discussion with NotBob.

You're correct, you weren't voting me, my mistake.

As for calling me sharp, that just puts me more on guard.  The comment about how you're engaging people to force specific outcomes (arbiter/become the buddy-ee) comes from the below quote:

If you're town and want me to read you as such, attacking me for correctly identifying odd behavior from you isn't the way to go about it.

As for the blue, you do typically engage people by asking them specifically to chat with you (arbiter style).  I don't often see you do the above.

As for NB, I'm trying to figure out if you're scumbuddies doing a little D1 distancing or not.  I've played with NB before and have found him less than helpful.  Only played a couple games though so can't give more meta than that.

Haha, I know it's obvious, I kind of feel dumb for not making the connection earlier. Nobody really goes back and considers the reads of dead townies though.

Len, you around?

Ill 1:1 with you all night  bb

I had something to ask you earlier but forgot. I guess we can start with what you think of the current goings-on.

@Tommy - I also note how serious you are about letting everyone know not only that you're town, but what an absolute asset you are.  I don't disagree when you're town, but you're not this game and your nervousness is showing.

Quotes below with relevant parts bolded.

BFG, let's catch up tomorrow. I haven't forgotten you, just haven't gotten around to it. Got caught up in another game that's at must-lynch and I die tonight, so I have to solve it for the village before I die and it's a real fustercluck.

At the risk of opening another Pandora's Darthe, may I ask what I have done to deserve such praise?

It's interesting, from an outside-the-game perspective, how polarizing I am so far. I'm not used to it on DM, usually everyone just clears me and we move on. Makes me think I'm on the right track with something.

There's an emerging adage on POG that I think has some merit: "the most correct villager tends to get lynched D1."

I don't see how A->B in your mind. Your scumread on me hinges on one sentence from one post that emphasizes my lack of interest in dicking around, and it's the opposite of buddying, it's me telling you quite calmly to piss off for misrepping me.

And not to toot my own horn too much, but I doubt you catch me as scum on D1.

So you've misrepped me twice now -- first when you said I piggybacked on Mynd despite having my own, separate reasons for suspecting you -- and second when you said I'm buddying you but in the very post you just quoted I'm quite clearly telling you to shape up.

You do realize that Hally is disagreeing with you right?  She's agreeing with me that with people new to mafia its fine, but not people new to Dm.

Let's ask the audience.

Rand, Hallia, Lenlo: are the quoted posts more likely to come from a villager or a wolf mindset, IYO?

Posted

The frequency of these types of posts is actually somewhat alarming.  However, Tommy would have to be cleverer than I think he is (no offense, but I think almost no one is this clever) to subtly place these references to himself in all of these posts, especially the one about the other game.  I think there's an easy way to solve this.  If one of these was proven to be true, it is much less likely that the others were contrived.

Tommy can you provide a link to the game where you are attempting to save town?

I think that, as much as I disagree with Rands points cause hes wrong, they are relatively towny posts. Its not enough to clear him or put him in the town pile, but its enough for me to look at other people. Mynd being one I want to look closer at cause of the sudden shift in what I thought he was and NotBob as my next scumread.

I was wrong about you voting me.  Agreed.

You're misrepping me in the buddying thing.  I said you are setting yourself up as "buddy-ee".  You telling me to "shape-up" is a way to set yourself up as an authority type figure for me to buddy up to.  It lays the groundwork for it.

As for catching you D1, I just did, so write it down in your notebook and remember it next time you hear a bike horn.

Yup, it just ended. We won. I was the only clear villager left and correctly picked the wolf at F5 to avoid a horrible F3 that we likely would have lost due to intense paranoia. Only took 450+ posts to get there. http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/59/puzzles-other-games/7-17-vanilla-werewolf-game-thread-1460059/

Hally at least remembers the D1 not lynching new players thing.  She said it is for truly new players, not transplants.  But at least somebody remembers, regardless of your interpretation of the word "new."

Hence, TG is not in crazy town.

No. I might have round-about caught you, though!

The only people calling me an obvious wolf in this game are you and NotBob, and who do I happen to be voting for and arguing with prior to this?

The way you suddenly switched gears to attack me full-stop right at that moment makes it difficult for me to buy this as a genuine attempt at scumhunting.

Timing aside, your argument is just wrong. Half of it was flat out false (voting for you), the rest is you spinning my adjusted meta to be wolfy when it isn't.

Try and try again.  What I'm calling your scum for is scummy behavior.  No you didn't vote me, but yes you continued to push me the whole time.  And yes you are working very hard to set yourself up as an authority figure.

As for you adjusting your meta, I'm not reading it as nearly as adjusted as you're making it out to be.
