Tommy, congratulations! You have been upgraded to our "Slightly Scum" suite, located on the second floor. Not as rank and dirty as our "Scum Salad" suite, but the previous occupant left a foul stench of scum in the bathroom. Pardon us while our housekeeping staff sprays lysol and frebreeze in the room as they prepare it for you. More than slight eye-roll at Red for keeping bringing up her claim I'm skimming, and yet she (in the same post, nontheless) has apparently skimmed to the extend she has missed that we have a deadline. Either seting up for later or just some double-standards there.

Scum Tommy doesn't really care about pressure. It's part of why he's so good at it.

Okay, I finally got the time to get caught up with this game.

So, now that Cory's been modkilled, I've got to find who's the next scummiest. RTE would've been my next option earlier. He's made few scummy posts since then, though, but Des is starting to look more and more scummy. (Yes, I know this sounds like a really bandwagony thing to say, but it's true.) His list doesn't make much sense to me since I think everyone on there is town but RTE. I have not decided who I'll vote for yet. I'll make a list soon of scummiest to least scummy.

Also, what exactly happened to Lenlo?

I think RTE is town, if that helps at all. His frustration post at Des was sooooo pure.

Your posts against Des do not seem like distancing. You seem to either honestly believe he's scum, or are trying to convince me to side with you on thinking he's scum (which you do in every single game with me where you are scum, but with different players.) You are also obviously defending RTE.

Tommy almost looks like he's scum-hunting, but he's overdoing it....and every post is tailored to his own bias. Methinks Tommy got his ego slammed in the door and just can't see past it.

@Tommy - maybe you should have your hydra partner try posting for a bit. For a more objective (and less ego-infused) perspective.

I kinda see this too. I feel like Tommy is overplaying the "townhunting" angle in order to buddy most of the thread. Exclusively townhunting is not an effective strategy for townies, but it's a great way to buddy people as scum.

My reads on each player:

Vos - I don't know right now and should probably be paying more attention to him.

Tsuki - He's kind of confusing to me. I'm leaning scum but I'm not sure.

Tommy - He seems town but is playing exactly the same as he does when he's scum. He's scum if Des is not.

Darthe - I'm more certain that he is town than anyone else

Quibby - seems town so far, should be more active

Mynd - Most mixed reads I've gotten in this game. I have no idea on him right now.

Pralaya - I haven't been paying much attention to him, so I don't know right now.

TGlems - Has he even posted? Can't tell yet, obviously.

Wombat - I'm pretty sure he's town

Lenlo - No clue, since he can't post

Red - Nearly positive she's town

Zer0 - Inactive?

Nyn - I'm not sure, but I'm leaning town

Player - Probably town

Despothera - likely scum, is getting increasingly scummier

I didn't really see an "appeal to emtion", just a mentioning of emotion. I'm sad that Tommy cleared everyone who has really posted in the game and just assumed all the inactives are scum. It's not appealing to any emotions, it's just me having emotions :wink:

Tommy: Sad by your list. Your re-read started so good, and I can get onboard with Mynd moving you into "slightly scum", but not sold on your list at all. Seemed like you cleared everyone who has been more or less active except Dap, and left the inactives for scum. Makes me think you are trying to save your own ass rather than get scum, which is... scummy.

When did this whole appeal to emotions thing become such a force on DM? This is the first time I've ever really seen it used this much.

Let's go for it then. I have town reads on everyone posting right now, let's go for the non-participants.

I appreciate the move away from the aforementioned emotional thing.

When I started catching up just now (fifteen pages ago), all I was getting was page after page of Des and Tommy going back and forth. Now, fifteen pages later, Des has gone quiet and Tommy- a leading scum candidate in some people's opinions- is now calling the shots. Does anybody else find this strange?

That being said, I think that Des is a better option to lynch than Tommy. Part of this is the fact that I had to wade through a further fifteen pages of posts that mostly consisted of relatively weak arguments combined with constant harassment and a refusal to consider other options.

My alternative is just a hunch, but I feel that there might be something to learn from lynching Wombat. I can't point to a single thing to justify it, though, so take from that what you will.
