Just getting a feel of what kind of gamers we have in the Seanchan

Posted

I play a PS2. The other day I asked the guy at Best Buy about when the PS3 will be aviable outside off Ebay and said there were 20 units in the back, and 30 coming at the end of the week.

But I don't have the Super Cool Plasma or LCD flat screen to play a PS3 on. It would be like eating a steak off a paper plate with a plastic knife and fork.

I am going to try and get a Nintendo Wii, however.

I am currently borrowing a friend's laptop for games, but it isn't very good so I am currently. As a result, I am saving up my money to buy one. I am a Mac user, but they aren't very good for gaming, which is a downside.

So what. I would have a Mac over PC/Windows anyday.

if Macs had more software (ie games) I would as well.

I told my wife (Kathana) I was getting a Xbox360. She finally relented so I came home with the 360 and a new 27" flat screen HDTV. She didn't know that the TV was for and I explained it was for the 360. My old TV was from 1994 and only had the coaxial connection, so I HAD to get a new TV.

Well, yes of course. I COULD afford, right now, to buy a 42' screen and PS3 and still have enough money left to pay the rent, bills, food, ect. But I'm coming on the lean time of the year and am planning a trip at the end of July. So I'm saving money.

It is slowly expanding, but there is one draw back that I have seen. You can't network up internally with fellow people in the same place. I don't know how this affects gaming online, as I have never done this.

Erm, there are plenty of games for Macs. They are called 'PC Games'. You just have to install Windows on the Mac and they should work fine (for Mac-OS fans, I'd suggest putting Windows on a separate partition), as long as you have a reasonable graphics card. Google 'Windows for Mac' and it should put you on the right track.

Note that you have to get a copy of Windows, but this is somewhat cheaper than buying a whole PC or waiting in vain for Mac versions of great PC games.

Personally, I use PC. The reason for this is that neither the 360 nor the PS3 is capable of handling the really good stuff coming along soon, such as Supreme Commander, Dragon Age or Crysis.

How would you get a virus? I presume you're using Mac-OS and Safari (or Firefox or whatever). You task-switch to the Windows partition when you want to run a game and then switch back to Mac-OS when you want to go online to reduce the risk of viruses (although if you use Windows XP in conjunction with a decent firewall and Firefox, you're not going to pick up viruses anyway).

The problem with the poll is that you can only make one choice. I picked Nintendo, but I also play games on my PC. I have all the Nintendo consoles except the Wii (which I'll get at some point in the future) and I still play them all to some extent (the cube stays hooked up to the tv, but I switch the others as I want to play games.. currently playing Metroid on the NES.)

My PC is from about 2000 and will play games up till 2003, plus a few console ports from years later than that will work on the low settings.

I also have a Sega Genesis (mega-drive)- though only two games for it - and PS1.

it really is to find out what you play for most.

My agenda is to find people who can review games for the Seanchan ;)

360 is all I play. I will be happy to write reviews as I own most the games for the 360... or at least have played them at some point in time.

This lull between games is killing me.

Yeah, I recommend picking up Perfect Dark Zero if you haven't played it already.

I've never really been a fan of console games, though I've played all of the Final Fantasy saga so far. I mainly play PC MMORPGs, though I've been slacking off on them lately. My oldest son is a console junkie however, so we own a 360, PS2, and GameCube.

PS2 and PC. I voted for Playstation though.

I play Kingdom Hearts on PS2 and Sims 2 on PC. That's the extend of my video gaming, though.

Chris and I do more D&D than video games...
