To those East Coasters that will be waking up in a few hours: your input for who you think is the last scum would be appreciated before you hammer Quibs.

Well, I was going to reread some and put out reads before hammering, but looks like I was just beat. I'll try to get in a reread in a couple hours, just waking up now.

i think the game is over..... u already got a positive view on Quibby, Jack is the second scum...... if he turns out to be a regular scum (not godfather) AJ then your job would be done... if assuming there is 2 scums and 1 godfather

How do you know whether there is a godfather in this game and how can you assume whether there is two scums and one godfather? The game isn't over until the last scum is caught.

we can now afford multiple mislynches just to hunt one person down in the coming days

Why do you want to take the chance of multiple mislynches? It only hurts town as the days go by.

I don't get a good feel from the posts you made. I have a scummy feeling on you.

as i said before this wouldnt be the first time i would get heat for speculating.... but as i said speculating... my comment on mislynches didnt mean that we should spare a confirmed scum and his teammates in the following night... it was a general comment that we have a good chance of winning..... even if it takes multiple attempts at lynches

That is a lynch!

Asleep and seemingly dreaming, Walter Gilman was half lying on a high, fantastically balustraded terrace above a boundless jungle of outlandish, incredible peaks, balanced planes, domes, minarets, horizontal disks poised on pinnacles, and numberless forms of still greater wildness - some of stone and some of metal - which glittered gorgeously in the mixed, almost blistering glare from a poly-chromatic sky. Looking upward he saw three stupendous disks of flame, each of a different hue, and at a different height above an infinitely distant curving horizon of low mountains. Behind him tiers of higher terraces towered aloft as far as he could see. The city below stretched away to the limits of vision, and he hoped that no sound would well up from it.

The pavement from which he easily raised himself was a veined polished stone beyond his power to identify, and the tiles were cut in bizarre-angled shapes which struck himm as less asymmetrical than based on some unearthly symmetry whose laws he could not comprehend. The balustrade was chest-high, delicate, and fantastically wrought, while along the rail were ranged at short intervals little figures of grotesque design and exquisite workmanship. They, like the whole balustrade, seemed to be made of some sort of shining metal whose colour could not be guessed in the chaos of mixed effulgences, and their nature utterly defied conjecture. They represented some ridged barrel-shaped objects with thin horizontal arms radiating spoke-like from a central ring and with vertical knobs or bulbs projecting from the head and base of the barrel. Each of these knobs was the hub of a system of five long, flat, triangularly tapering arms arranged around it like the arms of a starfish - nearly horizontal, but curving slightly away from the central barrel. The base of the bottom knob was fused to the long railing with so delicate a point of contact that several figures had been broken off and were missing. The figures were about four and a half inches in height, while the spiky arms gave them a maximum diameter of about two and a half inches.

When Gilman stood up, the tiles felt hot to his bare feet. He was wholly alone, and his first act was to walk to the balustrade and look dizzily down at the endless, Cyclopean city almost two thousand feet below. As he listened he thought a rhythmic confusion of faint musical pipings covering a wide tonal range welled up from the narrow streets beneath, and he wished he might discern the denizens of the place. The sight turned him giddy after a while, so that he would have fallen to the pavement had he not clutched instinctively at the lustrous balustrade. His right hand fell on one of the projecting figures, the touch seeming to steady him slightly. It was too much, however, for the exotic delicacy of the metal-work, and the spiky figure snapped off under his grasp. Still half dazed, he continued to clutch it as his other hand seized a vacant space on the smooth railing.

But now his over-sensitive ears caught something behind him, and he looked back across the level terrace. Approaching him softly though without apparent furtiveness were three figures, two of which he had seen many times of late. They were the furry rat-thing known as Brown Jenkin, and the wizened old crone, who cackled obscenely as she approached. The third figure was a tall, powerfully-built man, with skin as black as coal, but with the features of a caucasian man, and clad in a shapeless black robe. "Sign the book!" The crone impeached, "Sign your name in the book of Azathoth! You know too much! You must give yourself to his service and endless power shall be yours!"

The crone got closer, and the dark man raised a large tome which he had been carrying, holding a quill in the other hand. The rat-thing tittered grotesquely, seeming to spout the words "Azathoth", "Nyarlathotep" and "Sign! Sign!" over and over. Gilman backed up against the balustrade, trying to escape from the otherworldly figures. The crone, whom Gilman suspected was none other than Keziah Mason, the old witch of Arkham, and her familiar got closer and closer, while the black man kept his distance. Gilman stared, in open-eyed horror as the two figures approached him, and the crone reached out with a decrepit claw to seize his arm, "Sign it! Sign the book!"

As she grasped him, Gilman started and wrenched himself free, turning to run. Keziah Mason hissed and leapt at him, her claws wrapping around his throat. "There is no time for this!" She snarled. "You will sign, or you will DIE!" Gasping for breath, Gilman struggled to free himself from her steely grasp, her nails biting into his throat and her fingers cutting off his air. While they tousled, Brown Jenkin weaved in and out of their legs, biting at Gilman's legs and tittering in glee. "Sign!" She howled, before quickly glancing at the dark man, who showed no willingness to help. "SIIIIGN!!!" She screamed, long and piercingly, and Gilman summoned reserves of strength that he did not know he had possessed, and pried her hands off of his throat. Holding the crone's arms, he flipped her over his back, and into the balustrade. The strange material gave way, and Keziah Mason, with an infernal shriek, vanished into the darkness below.

Gilman, horrified at these events, turned and fled, purple light glowing and suddenly overtaking him. As he passed out of his 'dream', he could have sworn that he heard the black man laughing.

....................................................

Gilman awoke in his bed, drenched by a cold perspiration and with a smarting sensation in his face, hands and feet. Getting up, he struggled to make sense of what had happened. Had it truly been a dream? If not, what was it? Surely a long-dead witch could not have used her magic to open up portals into other dimensions, that was insanity and madness. And then he noticed something, out of the corner of his eye, lying on the floor. A silvery-looking object. As he turned to view it clearly, he gasped in horror and fainted outright. For the silver object was none other than the spiky figure that he had accidentally broken off of the balustrade in what he had thought was a dream.

Quibby, who was Keziah Mason, Serial Killer, has been lynched!

It is now Night 2!

Deadline: None, just get them to me whenever you are ready.

Just as well.  I was about to drop out due to an emergency anyway.

At least I wasn't mafia this time, though.

SK - so still 3 scum. Gut tells me Jack and Zanube. Since Quibby wasn't scum, Lily is back in the scum pool for me. Starting my reread soon.

Damn, good day folks.  Good day.

As suspected, this thing is wide open.  Jack is the lynch tomorrow unless AJ comes up with a gem tonight.

Agreed. Just went through and read the thread. Jack, Zanube, Lily and Ishy all are on my scummy list.

That hammer was pretty stinky though.

So is targeting Err for the set-up spec. That guy is hugely on his town meta right now.

I wouldn't blink at lynching her.

Not sure on Zanube - the "knows too much" angle doesn't seem like a good one to use.

I never said it was the knows too much. More the hammer and then after the fact going after Err but not really having much else to say. Voted Lily yesterday, hasn't made any follow up comments. Kind of an over all tone from her posts.

Which one is your scum mate on your suspect list?

I do agree that we should not spare a confirmed scum and his teammates. We can take down mafia by multiple lynches but there are chances that there can be townies included in that group of lynches too. Then the no. of townies would go down.

Zanube - Err is town. What he says about having multiple mislynches is true and is pretty much unavoidable in any game. Townies have to die in order for the others to weed out the scum with a smaller player pool. It's really just a matter of numbers, town has more to help the scum blend in. With the SK outted and 1 mafia on deck we can afford a few VT flips.

We've got 12 players. With a SK what do you guys think the odds of a having a 2-man scum team over 3-man?
