oh yeah I've had to turn off signatures on DM cause they've spiked my data plan over my 2G limit.

 

I think there may be a way to turn off images completely in some browsers but I've never found it in safari.

 

maybe in the mobile version of DM?

 

eh, dunno.

 

but I do know that whatever the tech mavens say, the spoilers do eliminate the slowness and data spikes I get from the visually extravagant.
