@peace - Leelou said that there could be game hints in the scenes, so it might be a good idea to read them in this game.

I agree that I don't really like dice's play so far, but right now I'm willing to see darthe's statement that Pral pointed out as a breadcrumb as that's what I immediately thought of after reading darthe's flip. Dice's obvious character hint would make sense in this context as well. Because of that, I find everyone voting him suspect.

I also find it weird that peace didn't say anything about darthe calling Lily's play consistently poor when in the "role pm matching/phrasing" post below he discusses not liking when someone insults (his word) someone else by saying their play is bad.

I second Mish, though, with the WTH were you thinking @ Pral.

Why would I bring that into a game thread?  Why would you?

Well, unless Dice comes out and says he is the other mason...I'm sticking with him.  Otherwise it's just wifom.

It's not about the thread, but about your feelings on the matter. I just find it interesting that you consider it an insult and don't like it when people criticize others' play, but you didn't say anything to darthe about it when he called Lily's play consistently poor.

If I was scum, I wouldn't have shot someone I could have gotten lynched, and I believe I would have been able to get Darthe lynched.

Tress, I didn't use a meta defense. I simply said that it would have been a stupid move for me to make. People do stupid things all the time in mafia, so you'll have to use your own judgment.

Lily, you didn’t say it would have been a stupid move. You said “if I was scum” call it what you want, but it sounds like a meta defense.

1 -- the Darthe comment re: JNer's, which she followed. It struck me then as trying to throw attention towards certain players. If you truly think you know someone in a small group is the town Vig, why are you talking about it? Don't give scum that information.

While I agree with this statement about drawing attention, I find it weird, AVM, that you didn’t comment on this when you were first responding to Tress’s statement. Actually, you said that you agreed with her on that point. Would that not be drawing attention back to it? Here’s the exchange I’m talking about:

Lol no AVM, my JN meta is that JN players are much quicker to take a shot than DM players are. I think it more likely that one of you would have shot because a DM player likely wouldn't have pulled the trigger yet.

Overall I couldn't possibly agree more, and that makes much more sense as a "JN meta." However, the players you are talking about specifically (I believe you named myself, Lily, and Ishy) are much more calculated.

In Star Wars terms, it's like seeing something being moved by the force then saying it must be Han, R2 or an ewok because they're from the franchise.

@AVM - I don't play at JN, although I co-modded a game there and I've read most of the games played in the last year or so.

I didn't take Darthe's statement as meaning that he thinks a JN'er is trying to set him up, more that it seems most likely to be a JN player that would make the choice to dayvig so early to get a flip and info. Most of the DM players would wait longer or holster D1... unless they wanted Despo out of the way for some other reason.

I think it's most likely a town vig responsible for the kill, so there wouldn't be a "set up" aspect to the situation. If it is one of the people Darthe listed, then they are most probably town. I wouldn't be offended at his including you in that list if I were in your shoes.

Again -- a JN player IS more likely. The player base you're looking at that plays at JN (and I'm the only one that plays almost exclusively there, as far as I know) isn't known for that.

To the second point, I would agree.

Honestly, I thought I saw something with Tress, but reflecting back on it, I don't think it's scummy enough to warrant a vote this late in the day. I just wanted to apply some pressure and see what popped out. While I don't like her joke vote still sitting on Ishy, that's really just a playstyle issue.

"Apply some pressure and see what popped out" - sounds scummy.

Bold - That sounds an awful lot like what AVM said.

You don't believe a JN player would be quicker to pull the trigger that a DM player would? I do. As someone who's played at both places, I believe it.

Seriously? What a JN player would do is irrelevant, when the JN players playing in this game are NOT quicker to pull a trigger.

^Agree with this though.

I don't get why you are even attempting to discuss this topic in a game thread.

Posted

Because it shows a possible disconnect between how you feel and how you have acted.

Are you stating your think I am scum because I didn't point it out in a game thread?

Next time just get to the point and save time for all of us.

And no, there is no reason to clutter the game thread with discussions that are already taking place in another thread.

Very weak Key.  Extremely.

Posted

Did I say that made me think you were scum? No. Did I vote you because of it? No. It's just something I'm noting.

I already told you, it wasn't about what that thread is discussing, it was about your feelings on the matter. I don't believe that using evidence of how you feel vs. how you acted is cluttering the game thread, at all. Imo, it's just as much gameplay as looking at someone's meta.

Well..then bring up other in games threads where it has happened and meant something about my alignment if you want to got the meta route.  Otherwise it looks like 1 of 2 things.  You are either shooting in the wind or trying to get someone else to latch on to a tidbit case.

Darthe flipped town.  If what you are saying is true..how does it reflect on me?

Please..expound on the correlation of my not addressing it in the game thread and how it relates to my alignment when the person were are talking about flips town.

I'll be here waiting for that explanation.  Seriously.

Agreed.

That's the second time you've popped in from the peanut gallery to parrot Ish. Any original thoughts of your own?

Dude..she's filled the page with thoughts of her own.  Very suspect post here.

That's the furthest thing from scummy, that's Mafia 101. You apply pressure and gauge responses. Beat the grass and see what pops up. And you know that. The fact that you're attempting to insinuate that Lily is scummy for using the most basic scumhunting technique is weak and bush league.

EAD sir. I don't like the team play here to try and pressure me. You both jumped on me for not unvoting at a time when I was not around and now again you both jump in to ask for an explanation of a vote on someone that is not either one of you two. I do what I do for my own reasons that may and may not involve telling you what you want when you want it. When I have something I want to tell you I will.

Explain this to me, cause I find it infuriating. You pop up in threads and vote with no explanation constantly, then brush off pressure for it. If I do it I'm scummy for it? Explain how it's reasonable for me to be called to for keeping a vote on someone when I hadn't posted in the game since the original question was asked. Key parrots you twice, I dislike it and it results in a vote? The only damn thing I wanted was to see Lily's response. Ish, suffice to say I'm fine with you mislynching me if this is how you want to play.

I didn’t say that it was your meta. I said I think it holds the same merit as looking at someone’s meta. There’s a difference.

You can think it’s that all you want. I was just stating something that I found interesting. Were it not you, wouldn’t you find it interesting that someone said they didn’t like the insulting in one place and then let it go without saying a word about it in another?

The fact that he flipped town doesn’t reflect anything. It’s not about his game play, but your reaction (or no reaction as the case is) to something that was said. Who said it doesn’t even matter. It’s what was said.

I could have been you attempting to go along with the fact that darthe was trying to discredit Lily and her play. You were even included in the original argument from Ishy that darthe was responding to. You also have said before in games that I have played with you that you purposefully do not defend others when you are scum. So, I found it interesting, and something I’m noting that you said you didn’t like it in one place and then didn’t comment on it in another.

Pressure you to explain a vote? Oh yes, how dare we do that. That’s like the foundation of mafia. You vote and either provide a reasoning or people ask for it. What is the point of voting and NOT providing a reasoning, btw? If you think that person is scummy, wouldn’t you want others to vote for them too? How are you going to do that without providing a case?

As far as us “jumping on you” for not unvoting – asking you to say why you aren’t unvoting someone who has claimed town, is not unreasonable.

Bold – combative attitude is not helpful. We are all trying to play the game here and asking for you reasons, though you may not like it, is definitely within the spirit of play, because as I said above, how else are we supposed to be able to read you, and/or possibly vote for the person you think is scummy, if you don’t provide us reasoning?

That answer to that is to hold his feet to the water when he does it.  I do.  It's not hard.
