I think it's a very telling thing, that we don't have ANY reasons to celebrate in the Summer. Probably because we don't ever have a summer lol.

 

All of our party things happens when it's cold.

 

I may need to borrow some more summery things. Plus, it would REALLY annoy the neighbours if I had fireworks in the summer. I'd also need to stay up past 10pm for it to be dark enough for it to be worthwhile though.

they started blowing stuffs up yesterday. today meat gets cooked salad gets too much mayo and drink gets drunk and there's cake the looks like a flag w whipped cream, strawberries and blueberries

And it ALWAYS rains on Bonfire Night.

I really like Sangria. How do you make it?

I don't think I've ever had it.

 

And we're mostly too lazy to break away. Then we'd have to deal with stuff.

a few liters cheap red wine, leftover mixed bottles are fine, I put in 750 ml or more each of triple sec and brandy or cognac, a splash of juice (cranberry and pomegranate work well, but anything you like), and I pour that over oh say five to eight lbs of sliced citrus, peel and all, mostly orange bu a little lemon and/or lime is nice

 

chill well a few hours or overnight, serve over ice and, if you like, fruit salad, most ppl mix it about 1:4 fizzy soda (plain,or citrus are good): sangria but wooooooo zooooooom it's good with cava or cheap champagne instead tho... the somehow super drunkifues it so be careful.

Of course Australians are loyal to the Crown. You would be too if you were a convict who got shipped off to an island many times larger than the one you started out on instead of being thrown in the Clink.

 

A law-abiding subject being forced to pay for a disproportionate amount of Imperial war debts with no Parliamentary recourse might have a grievance though :P
