Also, peace -  the "bit overkill" sentiment is exactly why I'd like to lynch either JIF or Ed. I agree with you that there's apparent balance issues. I just didn't agree that it was a cut and dry numbers game, mostly because there are balance issues. There have to be roles that are investigation proof, which would undermine the basis of the specific numbers game you suggested.

If Boo is scum, then it undermines a lot of what I've been working on this game. Like I explained to you earlier, there is more at play than you are assuming. You aren't considering roles that would undermine the investigative roles to in-fact balance them! I heard you out earlier, and when I saw you ignoring the probable mechanics that might balance out all the investigative roles, I thought you were pushing an agenda, and still kind of do ... if that is not the case, then you need to get better at being told no.

 

Also, if you understand a game needs to be balanced, then you need to consider all the ways it could be before promising a short-sighted plan.

Yes, of course. Why do you think I'm waffling? There are so many friggin variables that contribute to the guess work, the smart think to do right now is just lynch someone, tbh. I've never seen so much fear of snuffing someone in a non-game end scenario, lol.

2. Both theories can't be wrong. I'm basically saying that I've got a theory about JIF being scum and the nucleus of some shenanigans that are outside the bounds of how we are imagining this setup... OR he's not, and scum is a mixed bag.

Luck will often impact balance too. So will mod interference, intentional or not. 

 

I think it's relevant to bring it up, it's worth the discussion. Worth talking out to vet people's logic, and in peace's case we kind of needed to discuss it because he was pushing so hard on buying into something, that he himself seems to acknowledge isn't considering all the variables for balance, etc.

I'm not concerned by imbalance ever really. My favorite quote goes something like "Yeah I know it's crooked, but it's the only game in town."

I love playing mafia and I will still play a game I know I will lose if I think I'll be able to have some fun doing it.

 

That said, no I am not at all concerned by the number of investigative roles and welcome the chance to be cleared finally so I don't have to listen to Ape go on and on about how I was protecting Jif because we're scummates.

The way I see it, there are two main options here: 

1. Boo is scum. What this means for AVM and verby, I'm not sure. It would depend if he is a straight-out reporter, or could use the role to give fake roles to teammates. 

2. Boo is Town, and neither of us is a full-blown reporter. This means that AVM is off the charts as being Town, and Verby is Town. And Ape is off the charts for being Town and Cop as well. 

 

There are other options, and variations on that, of course, but who knows

 

Right now, I find it hard to think that Boo is Town, but I also find it hard to believe Ape isn't the Cop. 

I am down with lynching Tina, tbh. Because she is probably a SK and we'll be able to glean a hell of a lot of info from tonight's actions. 

 

I still think Lenlo is scum, though, and am willing to lynch him tomorrow.
