I don't have the book handy, but it's from one of the early chapters in TGS where he has a chat with Talmanes about the nature of women.

Mat is definitely my favourite character in WoT. Sure his demeanour while under the curse of the dagger was pretty jerkish, but the number of times I have cackled madly while reading his words or actions throughout the series far offsets it. Almost everything he says or does is comic gold. Can't remember any of them word for word but a number of other people's entries are some of my favourites. His letter to Elayne and reffering to her as "The Prim" were great.

Oh and when Joline accidentally backhands him in the face while she was arguing with the other female channellers in the wagon at Luca's camp and he just calmly says, "Now that killed the goat." before proceeding to put her over his knees to spank her for a long time in front of the others. One of my all time favourites.
