Dreamspike Black Tower

I was rereading ToM, and I read a part where Moridin was giving the dreamspike to Graendal and Moridin told Graendal that he knew the key for that dreamspike and that she would not be able to use it against him or any other of the forsaken. Does this mean that there is someone kind of weave or even simpler technique to disable a dreamspike and that this can be done to the one in the black tower or does this possible weave require the TP? Does this even exist or was it just mentioned in passing. Discuss.

Aparently the Dreamspike was made in the AoL for use during the War of Power to protect certain sensitive areas from invasion. It would make sense from a military pov that one of those sensitive areas would be your own staging area where you mass your own troops for an attack. I dont think it is known weather it was the Light or the Shadow or both who employed them, but I doubt the Shadow had much of a use for them tacticly; shadowspawn cant go through gateways and live. The light could use them tacticly by massing in an area proteced by a dreamspike and then using a key to travel out, attack, and then return at the end of the mission. This would agree with the tactics used by the Ten Nations in the Trolloc Wars, strike and fade. These tactics would nessessitate a key. Strategicly, the dreamspike could be used by both sides by protecting any C2 areas from strikes by channelers in which a key would be desired but not nessessary. I think that given the characters involved were both the highest echelon of Shadow in the War of the Power they would both know the ins and outs of the devise; Morridin has a key and Graendal does not question the matter of there being a key. Logic dictates (hate to go all Spok here, but it's true) that the key to allow a Traveling channeler past the perimeter of a dreamspike not only exists but Morridin is in possession of it.

Key= code weave that allows one to Travel inside a Dreamspike's area of influence. RJ once discussed the use of such devices during the War of the Power to restrict Travel. Obviously both sides would have used them. It's an interesting question whether a Spike could block Travel via TP at all.

Does the fact dreamspikes also prevent easy movement through TAR imply a reason for wanting to protect areas from TAR invasion or just a happy side effect

I gather that was a major reason in the WoS, less so this time round since we don't really have Asha'man (that we know of) entering TAR. Possibly preventing Perrin from going into TAR, but I think it was more to stop Travelling.

Also, considering it was named "Dreamspike" I would say it was made with TAR in mind, and that perhaps the Travelling block was a side effect, although I would say it was created for both

Given that in AoL all channelers were taught to use TAR both in the flesh as well as via Dreaming (Mesaana's PoV about dream ter'angreal being training aids to help channelers learn to dream into TAR), it would be very necessary to block Travel via TAR.

It is probably required to place a spike in TAR for it to block TAR

Also yeah, it's probably easier to protect it in TAR since then, it can only be attacked by channelers and it's very difficult to destroy/ shut down.
