the two players were replaced because it is unfair, regardless of which team they are on, to their team if they are suddenly shorted by one or possibly two players. would you like two less innocents to work with, villagers? prehaps no seer or angel? what about both? would the wolves like two less on their rather limited team? it wasn't fair no matter how it was turned, so i recruited.

sirayn, i'd investigated winter mist based on the coincidence i mentioned a few pages back, about no posting for 2 or 3 pages, and then showing up the second the night-kill was announced. a failed hunch, pretty much.

 

you, well, i investigated for the reasons we all know very well. if you were a werewolf, we needed to shut you up fast, before you engineered our communal suicides. 8)

Fair enough dude. The reason I asked is because I can very well see your logic for investigating me the first night - but I figured the same logic should also have applied to Raena. Raena being possibly evil makes me very worried indeed.

 

Next time I'm evil I'm going to have to think of a ways to avoid being auto-investigated. I can already think of one or two creative, but very terminal tricks. ;)

well, i've been running on hunches till now. obviously, they haven't worked that well. :oops:

 

unfortunately, since we're on day, and i haven't found a wolf, yet, i'm not going on much. my initial suspicion was for nevare (hunch). i guess that could be transferred to loki. i dunno if that's worth running with, though.

 

DJ is another that i've eyed, but haven't found much. that his posts are fairly routine, with little in the way of new ideas, could indicate just that, or that he's just filling space to blend in.

 

fully owning up to the fact that role picks were random, cosmic irony would dictate that raena could very well be a werewolf, and be able to escape scrutiny by association with you.

 

the shouts of "seer, view me" can, as you've said, be a simple, calcualted risk, or just genuine wishes to not die. i think though that we may want to call one of their bluffs. we have to work blind here, or at least with fuzzy vision. now that i've typed this all out, i'm thinking we should call the bluff, and lynch one of the folks who demanded to be viewed. it'll suck for an innocent, but this is sort of where we are, isn't it?

ok, i'm gonna propose something, i want you guys to listen. i've been going on straight hunches till now, i'm gonna keep with the pattern. my first hunch about nevare got sidelined due too absenteeism. i'm thinking we should maybe go with it now though. loki, sorry dude. i knew you were innocent. now though, i'm not so sure. think of it like this; i don't want to hang you. i want to hang nevare. as his surrogate, though, this may smart a bit.

The problem is that I've been watching Raena very closely - probably as closely as she's been watching me, unless I miss my guess. Her reasoning is watertight. I can't judge her subjective suspicions, but where she talks tactics, she's right on the money. If I think she's deliberately misleading us I won't be shy about saying so. On the other hand, I would love to have her investigated tonight unless anything else crops up - and if something else does crop up I'll want to know who was behind it and who they're in league with.

 

dude, I love you lovingly, but I'm going to want a bit more than a hunch before I vote today. We've got today and tomorrow - that's all. Also, you may be lying. Your story checks out, but it's the same story I'd give if I were fake revealing right now, and it could easily be stitched together convincingly from the information on the thread. You're the seer! On night one you investigated the person who was loudly arguing that she should be investigated night one. Also, since if you were evil you would know I was innocent, you might get a useful innocent on your side. On night two you investigated someone who nobody can accuse you of being in league with on account of being dead. And when I speculate that the reason the seer hasn't revealed is because their investigation target is dead, then opine that a seer with a dead investigation target should still reveal ... it turns out that your investigation target is dead but you reveal as instructed! Excellent. :P

 

I'm not saying I disbelieve you. I won't disbelieve you until I get a counter-claim. I'm just pointing out that your actions could easily be those of an innocent - but they could also plausibly be those of a werewolf. I also don't rule out you being an innocent but not the seer; fake-revealing is a solid move for an innocent under certain circumstances. (Please, if there are any bored innocents out there, don't take this as an invitation.)

and actually, i'll be perfectly frank about viewing you on day 1. i've since decided to just go with it, but lemme lay it out.

 

i dm a couple d&d games. and as a dm, metagame is basically anathema to me. i give guff for metagaming on a weekly basis. now, this is just a casual game and all, but habits die hard.

 

so, i see a player metagaming like there's no tomorrow, that habit curls its lip a bit. honestly, i was in a pissy mood for a few days (i get like that sometimes), and all i could think was, "if this metagaming missy is a wolf, i would LOVE it." :twisted:

 

first, because we can't have someone like that leading us around if they're the bad guy. had to clear that out of the way.

 

second, the dm in me just kept chanting, "kill her, kill her, kill her." :oops:

Well loki meta-game is just out of game logic, like someone is behaving differently from how they behave outside of game and crap like that... you probably didn't understand I suck at explaining... anyone care to help?

metagaming is using out-of-game knowledge to influence in-game decisions. in a roleplaying game, it sort of defeats the purpose. i have unruly players that need to be reminded of this from time to time (read: all the time), and it's become a sore point, insofar as something like that can really be a sore point).
