Why Morridin Doesn't Want Rand Dead

Why would the Creator keep a champion that has been turned? A traitor?

Rand states he has never been turned (EoTW.

TGS: "He remembered lives, hundreds of them, thousands of them, streching to infinity. He remembered love, and peace, and joy, and hope". This does not sound like someone who has embraced the Dark Side of the Force...ever.

And if Rand had turned to the Dark Side in TGS, the Pattern and the World would have been utterly destroyed.

There's something the DR must do to accelerate, or enable the GLoD's takeover.

Otherwise the GLoD's strategy doesn't make sense.

He's consistently kept the DR alive, both now, and in the AoL.

Ishy could have easily killed LTT at the time of the EotW prologue, or Rand all trough the first few books when Rand knew zilch of channeling, or protecting his Dreams.

Ishy has a direct line to the GLoD and would undoubtedly have killed Rand/ LTT if he had been told to.

Consider:

Time has no meaning for the GLoD.

After 3K years, He's almost broken through the Seals.

Give him another 3K years or whatever time it takes, He could eventually break the Seals, expand the Bore and touch the world.

So it would apparently make sense to just keep His head down, instruct minions to cause no trouble, until that time.

Why stir up the DR and the forces of Light, until He's absolutely free and ready to crush them all?

But the GLoD's actions are not consistent with the above logic.

He is telling His minions to cause chaos, and that is at exactly the same time that His greatest "enemy", the DR is ascending to power.

So, there is something that the GLoD really, really needs the DR to do.

What that something is, we don't know.

It can't be breaking Seals since the GLoD can do that himself.

It can't be something that's normally Channeling-related, since the GLoD has ample strong channelers.

What's special to the DR that only he can do?

Why would his turning to the Dark be more useful than turning say, Ishamael or Lanfear or whoever?

I'm clueless.

What's so special aboout the DR?

One thing that leaps to mind is that he's the Fisher. He's one with the land. We've already seen what effect Darth Rand has had on food, weather, etc, and the inverse effects of Rand Sedai. Also, the DO seemed to begin Its onslaught by playing games with the weather.

Perhaps It can use the DR to turn the whole world into one gigantic Hinderstap.
