So just curious with most of you being Aes Sedai on the RP side what did you base your choice of Warder on?

Well I base mine on the person behind the character. Will I work with the person well, do they talk to me outside of the RP world etc. Visar has been my bonded on various sites for five years, we don't have to really talk anymore about our characters we just know what the other is going to do. Although Rasheta is about to be retired and Reana another Green i'm making, is about to be created because Visar is moving on with his life and can't give as much time to DM. Which is great but Rasheta is pretty messed up and needs him so I can't just have her wandering around Warderless. *laughs*

Um...I base it on quality of writing LOL and if I think our characters will get along. It's nice to get along with the person, too, of course. I want someone that I can plan rps with, but someone who is also willing to go with the flow if something changes.

Good sense of humor is favored also.

tangent:..........Rasi, I want a cool nickname *pouts*..........

You can have a look at the pinned topic on this board called A few tips and guidelines to help you role play - that gives some general advice.

Other than that, read some other people's RPs to see how they do it, and never hesitate to ask any of us for help or advice. If you're new to it, it will probably take a bit of practice at first till you get the hang of it - we all had to go through that .... lol

A few short tips I can think of, which mainly help people understand what you're trying to say:

Spell check.

Don't rely solely on spell check, because it can't read your mind (witch vs which, their vs they're, etc - you must know which is the one you want to use).

Use proper grammar and punctuation. Putting a full stop or a comma in the "wrong" place can completely change what you're trying to say.

Give the other person / people RPing with you, something to work with. For instance, if you're meeting someone for the first time, don't end your post at "knocks at the door". I mean, what can one reply to that, other than "enter"? You don't know who's at the door, and can't really make a whole post out of that, which forces the other person to write up something completely irrelevant (and probably boring :P). Don't swing the other way and RP their character FOR them without permission, though - find a middle ground. If need be, ask that person via PM what their response would be to that, then incorporate some of that into your RP.

I tried to describe 2 people RPing to someone once by saying it's like the 2 legs of a body. 1 leg swings forward, then the 2nd leg swings halfway past that, then the 1st leg swings halfway past the 2nd leg, rinse and repeat. Don't know if that makes any sense, though ... lol

Both are very good reasons I can't wait to see both of you on the rp side. Any advice for rping?

I was thinking of giving you some links to threads where we've all rped so you could get a good idea of how things are done. Then I thought you can find those on your own. *laughs* Although just because I have to show off my two bondeds Key and Elgee that is here's an Rp from them. Keyholders I know its in the three fold land but it should give you a good idea of what a good Rp looks like. :)

Elgee's Her's is in the WT so that's a good example of Aes Sedai work. :) Again should give you a good idea of what to do.

As to other advice, talk to the people you want to RP with either through PM or IM. Its a good idea to have an end point to the RP. Like you bond, you throw yourself in front of the Aes Sedai, end a battle. Etc. The starting point isn't nessecarily as important but the end point is. *laughs* Meanduring Rps are kind of hard to write, so let the middle take care of itself and work toward where you need to end up. If that makes sense.

lol thanks for the props Rasi love, but I wouldn't have used that one. Maybe the Carys and Elessar bonding string? SW2 is going to think I write only a few lines per post. We shouldn't trick him like that ;).

I agree with Elgs' though - that one is very good :).

Well I'm waiting on the Warders to reapprove my bio revision and hopefully by this weekend you'll see a new recruit in the Yards. I appreciate the help of all of you Aes Sedai. *bows in awe of the sisters* It has been a true pleasure.

*pinches SW2's cheeks* Aren't you just the cutest thing!?! You'll fit right in here *nods*.

All kidding aside: we're more than happy to help love. If you need anything, just ask Elgs or Rasi and they'll get you sorted out. Or me, but I don't have fancy titles....

Well you sorta do, you are the head of the Blue Ajah OOC. Isn't that a fancy title? ;) But yes Sword whenever you need anything you can ask one, or all three of us, about it and we'll be happy to help. Elgs lives in a different timezone then Key and I so if you ask late enough in the day she will probably be sleeping and you'll have to wait. I'm up at such weird times that its possible I could get back to you right away. *laughs* And Key is pretty fast as well. :)

Thank you Souvra Sedai

*laughs* I think I should explain. Souvra'dar or souvra for short means soul sister in the old tongue. When I refer to either Elgee or Key that way it means we've bonded as siblings on the Social side. *ggls* So its a little weird you calling her sister sedai. *ggls* Then again maybe not sister sister and all that. *ggls*

How about that two way twister

Shakin' up our family tree

With sibling syncronisity

Sister, sister

Never knew how much I missed ya

Now that everybody knows

I ain't ever gonna let you go

Sister...oh"

*dances..er..kinda....and drunk sings the theme song to the Tia and Tamara Mowry show....* NO JUDGING!
