Harry Potter type ending? (spoilers for HP ending)

Neville killing Voldemort would have been epic. If HP had actually ended like this then it would be much higher in my estimation. But with her bank balance and number of sales I doubt JK Rowling gives a f*ck what anybody thinks

He basically does in the movie version. He kills Nagini, and Voldemort subsequently dies. In the movie, while Voldemort was unable to kill Harry with the Elder Wand, neither was Harry able to touch Voldemort. But after Nagini dies, Voldemort falls apart on his own. The movie version really leaves it ambiguous, leaning towards it being Neville that finishes off Voldemort.

Moghedien is the Chosen that I want to see survive the Last Battle. I'd love to think that she takes up investment banking again, and helps found the first stock exchange.

uhh, neville kills nagini in both the book and the movie, and that on both is what weakens voldemort to the point where he can be defeated by potter. the difference is that in the movie the confrontation is visually great, in the book it is instantaneous and epic.

and none of the forsaken deserve to live even if they recant and help destroy the dark one. one such as that who wholly recants will ask for death. and will get their trial, and their execution. moghedien likely lived her whole life with the dark one's influence in the world, keep in mind that it was something like 80 years before that influence was discovered.(cant remember how long, i'm sure someone here can say)

In the book, Voldemort is weakened by the death of Nagini, allowing for Harry to kill him a short time later. In the movie, the death of Nagini can be directly attributed to be the cause of death for Voldemort.

Neville also, like Harry, was 'born as the seventh month dies' as per Sybil Trelawney's prophecy, i.e. at the end of July. Both his parents and Harry's had 'thrice denied him (Voldemort)'. Voldemort himself chose Harry over Neville by going after the Potters and 'marking Harry as his equal'. So I'd say the ambiguity was intentional.

And now, back to your regularly scheduled programme..

If Rand == Harry, perhaps Logain == Neville!
