That wasn't a sympathy card, just an opening to some discussion.

So where is all the action? I know that many of us (inkluding me) are new at this game but we got to have som activity. How else are we going to find the bad guys? With only 48 hours left we have only five votes. DeadlyFriend, Keyholder, MCS, Mottlee, Mathwin, Csarmi, Tynaal - why are you so silent?

Since few of us has voted it´s hard to judge anyone at the moment but I think Tanaus reason for voting Csarmi is strange. Sympathy card? I think he just told us what timezone he´s in. (Like me and some other has done before.) Since that is the only thing that stands out at this moment I think I will have an eye on you.

Csarmi, I take it this is your first time playing Mafia online? I find that announcing that he isn't sure what to do yet is not scummy, as most of us here don't know how to play (or very well).

Well at least we have some discussion now

It's my first time, yes. However, I did point that out on purpose, so that we might start a discussion on something. Who has experience, how should one act, all that kind of thing is better than nothing, I suppose.

As for not voting: I haven't got a clue yet. I have half a mind to get back at Tanaus by voting him, as good a motive, as any. But I haven't made my mind up just yet.

As for being silent: not much to say yet, plus I've been quite busy in RL so far (just got online again).

Csarmi, I've only ever played IRL... so this online Mafia is an interesting new world. The lack of facial cues is making it harder. Whenever somone posts, we only get to see their words... not the expressions or body language.

But I stand by my vote... it is always rude to pick on a lady.

Ahh, a real life. Can I have one of those?

Of course we have things to do other than lurk here at DM. I´m home sick today and have nothing els to do. I was thinking - who wants to hide in the shadows? I have noticed on some of the games I have followd that it´s common that maffia keep a low profile at first and then show up and give someone their third or forth vote. But on the other hand I know it´s the same for newbies who doesn´t know what to do...

Maybe I should just stop babble and get back to bed...

Phelix, I thought it was rude to pick on anyone?

The one game I was in, one mafia member was out there right at the start *cough* ModGod *cough* and got voted a couple days in... He didn't stay silent and managed to survive quite a bit... So maybe the people that haven't checked in are just busy and/or forgotten to check/post?

Arlow, I have to admit I was raised by my Momma, her sisters, my grandmothers, and my own older sisters... so I respect the ladies quite a bit. The gentlemen can take care of themselves.

I think activity level depends on the person, really... Though I have seen my share of mafia lurkers.

I disagree with the thoughts against Tanaus- I feel like he had a valid point, though no strong case. But when we have nothing to go on for voting, anything in your gut is reason enough. Why would someone point out their newness to the game when almost everyone here is new?? And discussing that rather than trying to hunt out the bad guys seems a little off to me. Not enough to move in against him, but it's worth looking at.

I agree with Tanaus and Reyn as well, they do have a point. When there is nothing to go for, you have to pick something.

I've pointed my newness out for three reasons:

1) to stir up the leaves a little

2) to find out who else is new, the attitudes of the players

3) I was instructed that looking a little scummy is often a good idea

For now, my goals are:

1) someone else gets lynched

2) someone else gets lynched

3) someone else gets lynched

Quite straightforward, isn't it?

I'm not interested in a random lynch, because I can't afford to die.

Thus, I NEED a discussion and the more we figure out, the better. And in the end, the timeline should be considered.

Csarmi, no need to defend yourself so crazily  It's just first day votes.

Ehm.. also I am silent cause.. MCS stole my tongue? >.>

Also.. I vote for Tina cause she actually wants a RL and she picked on me!

Reyn.. It's

As for who should get lynched, well, I believe we should pick someone who is quite inactive, if you ask me. For two reasons: looks like a scum + less fun to play with.

Posted

Yes! I´ve got my first vote. You flatter me Tynaal. Now you can unvote me!

Happy that there has been some action here. I agree that we have to have a discussion if we are going to find the evil ones. I think Csarmi is right. We should vote someone that is inactive. I made my random vote on MCS and he hasn´t shown up since checking in. But, as said, that vote was just placed on him randomly so I can change my mind.

A question - did anyone else think it´s strange that Reyn defends Tanaus but still keep her vote on him? Maybe they are friends and she is just joking? What do I know? In fact - in this early stage of the game I don´t know much.

How much time do we have left?

Hiiii

*grumbles about Thursday* Sorry ya'll - had a busy day yesterday and didn't have a chance to get on here!

Csarmi - I think it's a little early to start talking about inactives. It's only the first day after all, and it's not even over yet. Give people a chance to get in here.

We do have to think about vote consolidation soon though, since we have 32ish? hours.

Posted

Make that Csarmi and Tina. Personally I think picking on inactives later in the game is fine, but I like to give people benefit of the doubt on day one. If only day one.

I aplogozie, if I went too far. I really don't know how activity levels work in this kind of game. I've only played offline, you know, and there it's different. Everyone is at the room, in the worst case, they aren't talking.

What I do know, however, is that nothing's happening and first day is almost over. Now my role says I should keep a low profile, but this way, I can't afford that (random lynch might hurt my cause), not to mention that it's terribly boring :)

I'm all vote consolidation too.

Tina: I don't know about Reyn. You know, that you do agree with someone doesn't mean you are on the same side. I tend to agree with them and one of them voted for me an the other I find scummy...

Although Tanaus is in fact a friend (well, boyfriend actually) my reason for not unvoting is this. I don't have any feelings one way or the other towards him as of if he is scum. My vote was just random whateverness until I get an eye on someone. I believe that comes from the fact that I've played games where those who don't vote are more likely to be mod-killed if majority is not reached. Also just to get the ball rolling.

Now I must say that I do have an eye on someone. Csarmi, you are not only getting defensive, but also ganging up on those who haven't posted way early in the game. Not only that but I find it extremely suspicious of you to claim you have a role that needs to be protected. If you are being truthful then you now have all mafia eyes on you for a night kill. If you are lying then you now have innocents seeking to protect scum which is a win for you.

As deadline approaches I hope you have a good comeback here. If not I will be changing my vote. Not sure how much time we have left though.
