That she did. It's not a matter of your being wrong or my being right, I was merely quoting RJ. I don't know what made him use the capital T in that sentence, or if it even was he who did it. Regardless, he decided that Talents are a thing of the Power, and as you yourself note - what Alar did was very different from what Siuan and Logain can do.

I have not seen where RJ said that Talents are only of the One Power, though. He said that specific Talent (seeing ta'veren) was of the One Power, but...

I wish I had the same extensive knowledge of the interview database that I do of the books, but unfortunately I have never taken the time to read it that thoroughly.

I thikn in terms of the books, RJ has been a little bit confusing by what is and isn't a Talent and whether Talents are ONLY to do with specialised ability to do specific tasks with the Power such as Delving for metals, etc, or Hurin's Sniffing (which is not Power related, but how do you describe it - if not a Talent, then what, a Skill?).

Driving Mr. Sanderson (from Half Moon Bay to San Jose), 21 November 2009 - Matt Hatch reporting

Maria clarifies: Jim says of Talents: “A Talent is a special ability with the One Power. While the name is used for other things, a Talent is, in truth, something which is inborn in the person and not something that can be learned.”
