Short Story: what is considered to be a "short story" changes depending on who you ask. Most these days are between 2 and 7 thousand words. A good thing for an author to when writing a short story is starting fast. If nothing happens in the first two paragraphs, most readers will lose interest and stop reading. Not many, believe it or not. It's usually the dresses and the shoes that the brides complain about. This woman, though, is in a black and white dress with a red ribbon belt and black shoes. It's weird, but it really suits her.
