Shara, and Beyond

I'm sure this has come up many times, but I can't find a thread on it (the search tool isn't working currently?). I know Shara probably isn't important enough to be part of the plot all the time, but its mentioned so often that I wonder why the even bother. I guess it just confirms that there is stuff on the other side of the Aiel Waste. I want a full size map of the world, or at least one that includes the Sea Folk isles, some of Shara, and Seandar. It seems silly that we've been using the same map since the beginning of the series so long ago.

The way the map is drawn, it seems that it would be impossible for the "known world" to anymore than half of the actual land. If we assume that the mainland is half the continent (I'm assuming this because the map doesn't get smaller at the North and East sides, it almost seems to increase in size), then there has to be at least 50% of the continent that we have no ideas about. I guess its possible that the North side is completely Blight, and that the East side is just all Shara, but that seems unlikely. The whole North side being the Blight is silly because Shayol Ghul is quite close to the Borderlands, not deep within the Blight as you would expect (think LotR, the all seeing eye isn't on the outer wall, its deep within Mordor).

I'm just kind of curious, does anyone know if there have been verifications at what the rest of the map looks like? Or at least what Seandar or the Sea Folk isles look like?

Yes, there is a thread not far away with the whole map.

If you want to know, it is a small part of the world that we see. The Aiel Waste is quite vast, and beyond, Shara is even more vast than Randland. Seanchan goes from the Blight in the north, to halfway through the south hemisphere. And under the Westlands, the Land of Madmen. The rest is water.
