Breaking Elin's Block

Hey there! So, my novice, Elin Hawes, has a block. When she was younger, her brother was executed by their friends and neighbors because he was accused of being a channeler. When Elin sparked, she worked it into her mind that it wasn't really her doing the channeling, but rather her brother who was somehow still with her. Below is my draft of the outline for the RP. I'm not stuck on any part of it, and am willing to change it all if needed.

 

Does anyone want to be the Aes Sedai who breaks Elin's block? Do I need MoN approval for this RP? Should I submit the application to use the mirror ter'angreal?

RP Concept: Elin, as a novice, is called to an Aes Sedai’s private rooms to explore her block.

Characters involved: Elin Hawes (played by me) and an Aes Sedai (I’ll ask for volunteers)

Timeline: IC: several evenings, OOC: Total of 10 days +/-

 

Outline:

First Section: The Block (3 days OOC)

I. Elin will be called to a lesson with the Sister

II. The AS will ask Elin about how she channels, knowing that Elin reaches the Source via “her brother”

III. Elin will explain, blushing and feeling shame, about how Nile was her twin, how he was killed, how he is still with her whenever she channels

IV. The AS will bring out the mirror ter’angreal which allow the holder to see weaves of the Power, she will explain their use to Elin, and instruct Elin to hold the mirror that allows one to see saidin and then the one that allows sight of saidar

V. Elin will hold the saidin mirror, and see nothing, and begin to doubt; then Elin will hold the saidar mirror and see the flows coming directly from herself. When she realizes that the flows are coming from her, she will lose the power in her shock. From then on, she won’t be able to touch the power.

VI. The AS will instruct Elin to come back the next day

 

Second Section: Breaking the Block (1 week OOC, 4 weeks IC)

I. The AS will summon Elin and give her simple instructions for a task to perform not requiring the power

II. Elin will attempt the task, and will find weaves of the power blocking her, simple things she could slice with the power if she could only reach it

III. On another night, the AS will then try restraining Elin with the Power

IV. Elin will be miserable, but unable to touch the source

V. On the third night, the AS will try physical punishments (slippers and more)

VI. Elin, again miserable, will see the Power lurking but beyond reach

VII. On the fourth night, the AS will insist on Elin doing impossible chores (from a creative AS these should be fun)

VIII. Elin will attempt the chores, and fail

IX. The AS will assign more chores, still impossible

X. Elin will fail again

XI. The AS will assign Elin something else impossible

XII. Elin will fail at first, give up and submit to that fact, and will finally be able to reach out to the Power; she will use the Power to finish the chore

XIII. The AS will see Elin using the Power and congratulate her on breaking her block, and maybe send her to the Mistress of Novices for using the Power unsupervised

Yay for approval! Though, that does leave the question if I need to ask for permission to use the mirror ter'angreal. Do I, or does this approval count for that too?

Permission granted, as long as the T'A is used by an Aes Sedai character. If you can't get someone with an AS character to play with, bribe one of the other novices or accepted to use an NSW

Now, all I need is a firm Aes Sedai who would want to work with a Wilder Novice. :D

Wow, this sounds really well thought out, and really fun! I am interested in playing with you, but I'm not sure if I can yet. I am just being raised but I don't know if its official yet. If you get another offer, I would say take it and I'll just follow along, but if you are stuck for finding someone and I am approved to do it I'd give it my best shot!

I'm glad you like it! I'll definitely keep you in mind... I read your raising post, and I liked your style. :D If all else fails, you could pick up a NSW Aes Sedai and play with her. ;)
