well, we DID discover that the mafia probably have a puppeteer role (or Aemon was just playing horribly for some reason).  not saying we should assume, but take it into consideration before we just hack another possible innocent like we did Aemon...

 

 

to Talya:

it's convenient that no one could possibly counterclaim your role-claim, so everyone basically has to just believe what you say.  yeah, it's complex.  but you would've wanted it to be to make it convincing. 

 

to Meesh:

a few things.

1. the person who gave you that offer HAD to have been a person.  a mechanic of the game can't decide who they want you to vote for.  it *could* be just a random selection...but that just doesn't seem...right.  it just isn't the kind of role to have a random selection on.  so i'm convinced that it's a person's ability.

 

2. yes, it would be convenient, but it could also look kinda scummy if you were to say that "oh, i viewed this person and they're mafia!  but i'm being forced to vote for this person, who happens to be an innocent..."  it could just go sour for the town far too easily.  *shrugs*  it just seems like something i would turn down if i were offered it. 

 

3. like you said, it's really darn convenient that you viewed me as mafia, and then also HAD to vote for me.  really really lucky?  doubt it.

 

i am forced to believe that this role is being used by the mafia, and they're trying to frame innocents with it.

Hmmmm, interesting....  You know, I am not entirely sure, but I would like to put forth the possibility that Red is the Puppeteer.  If there is one.  Because while she is not the only one in the world prone to typos, this particular one is one that Red just made in a different mafia game.  Metagaming, I know.  But still, a possibility.  I don't know that that's the kind of mistake Wombat makes often. :D

 

Also, the other possibility of a Puppeteer-thing, if we're going based on that typo, is Talya, because she (no offense dear, I love you) also has horrendous issues with typos. :D  But right now I trust her more than Red, and no I don't have any particular reason for trusting Talya, I just have reasons for not trusting Red, namely her behavior thus far in the game. :D

 

To all of this, though, I want to say I suspect Red and CJ the most out of everyone else.  Wombat, not so much, again because he could be under the control of another player, like Aemon.  CJ wants to seem helpful and point out that Wombat might be controlled by someone else, so that if we lynch Wombat and he turns out to be vanilla or some such thing, he can say that he knew it, he was right, we should have listened to him.

 

Regardless, I think right now the most information can be obtained from a lynch on CJ, but I also think Red needs to go.

If it looks scummy to vote a power role and if it looks scummy to not vote a power role then everyone is scummy.  I voted Lia in the first place to stay hidden and because it could have been a gambit.

Trying to put two people in a team when they aren't! Still doesn't mention anything about Aemons Finder claim! Even after a healer has claimed, that would at least give him an in road for getting at Aemon as finder! unless of course he knew that Aemon wasn't really as it was his team that set him up!

 

I didn't counterclaim Aemon because I didn't want to out yself.  I don't know what went on with Aemon but you making everything sosimple smells of scum to me.

 

I find Lia's claim scummy, but I also find Aemon's relative silence scummy.  I am willing to lynch either one.

That was three minutes after the quote you used to accuse me of being scummy because I didn't push Aemon.  Either I voted Aemon or I didn't.  You taking it both ways is scummy.

I was half expecting Aemon to flip jester after seeing that self-hammer.  I was certainly not expecting him to flip vanilla townie.  Something strange is definitely going on.  Don't know what to make of it yet.

 

This could easily be a townies surprised he wasn't scum after the stuff that Aemon said, but it could also be Mafia making it sound like they are surprised...could go either way!

well i'm being framed.  i'm not the puppeteer and if i was i wouldn't make it that obvious.

 

i'm the contract giver.  i was turned down last night because Amadine was killed. but i did give meesh the contract night 1.  i have no clue what it offered, all Lily told me was choose one person and if they accept i control their vote for the day.

 

Meesh accepted the Contract and i told her to vote for CJ.

 

i don't think Wombat is scum but i do think our scum team is CJ, Meesh & Tayla, with either Meesh or Tayla being the puppeteer.

 

 

my reasoning behind those three.

 

CJ, points out the typo.  he trys to fish for infomation and find out who the contract giver is on Day 2. it's also more of a gut feeling.

 

Meesh, because she's trying to pin the puppeteer thing on my mostly; but also because i still find it odd about finding a scum with the contract and it's the person you were supposed to be voting for.  i told you to vote for CJ and i gave you the contract so i know thats not a lie; but i think you're running a gambit with him.  i also dont believe Lily would tell you that about CJ.  she's a fair mod and i have yet to see her try to direct the players that way.

 

Tayla, you claim an ability under no pressure that gives us little information as well as confuses us.  the ability itself (while used in games) is confusing enough that unless you've modded a game with it or had it you wouldn't be able to pull it off. because of this you know people will be more inclined to believe you. i'm less inclined to believe you're scum but you're 3rd on my list

 

 

 

my vote stays on CJ, but i don't expect to live through the night now.  Finder, whoever you are, stay hidden and keep doing a good job.

And I'm not jumping all over you either, if I was really serious about this and absolutely positive you're controlling people, I wouldn't be laughing about it (using the smileys). :D  It's just something I noticed.

 

And yeah, maybe you are being framed, I'd have to go check and read all of Aemon's posts to be sure, but I did have a half-thought that I don't remember him making so many typos.  I did read most of it on my phone, though, and I don't catch much when I'm on my phone.  I miss a lot of smaller things then.  So I don't know.

 

We do know the best place to start would be to vote CJ, either way we get information from that.

 

And fine, I'll tell you all why I did pick CJ to view, terrible as it is.

Oh, and Red, I received the name of the player to vote for in the same PM as my viewing results.  So I didn't know you were going to have me vote for CJ until after I already viewed him.  My PMs looked like this:

1. You've been offered a contract.  You get an ability for the night (finder, healer, etc) and in return you vote for who you're told to vote for.  Do you want to accept this?

2. Okay, you get a finding ability tonight.

3. CJ is mafia.  The person you have to vote for is CJ. Have fun!

4. (in response to my PM that said "EPIC WIN!!! :D") Yup, CJ's been mafia in like every game, so I almost made him town this time, but in the end I just went with what random.org told me.

Okay, I picked CJ to view because on Sunday night, when we got back from Iowa City, CJ hadn't had a chance to get online in a few days.  I loaned him my computer so he could check his role PM, post in the game, whatever.  I went and got ready for bed, in the meantime.

 

I poked my head into his room to see how long it would take him, when I was done brushing my teeth and whatnot, of course the computer was facing away from me and I didn't want to know what he was doing, just how long it would take.  He said he was almost done.

 

So I went away, and waited a few minutes, but I was really tired and wanted to go to sleep so I went back to see if he was almost done.  There was white light reflecting from his glasses, and I'd say it was Facebook but I was logged into Facebook already, and hadn't been logged out when I got my computer back, eventually.  And when I opened his door, he jumped and clicked away from whatever light-colored non-DM page he was looking at.  I didn't check my history, so I don't know what he was doing, but the fact that he jumped even though I knocked first, and hurried to click back to DM, made me kind of wonder what was up.

 

I know, it's terrible, and it's metagaming, but that's why I viewed him.  I thought, "I have a one-time viewing, I don't have any other real suspicions at the moment, why not use it to see if I'm onto something here?"

 

So now you know.  Cody CJ probably hates me now. >.<  And this is also the kind of thing our "no contact while in a mafia game together" rule is supposed to prevent, so now it's being enforced quite strictly, especially on my part.

2) Well, of course I knew it might not be great to sell my vote to someone, but the fact that I had a chance at a finder viewing, or some other unknown role (because Lily told me there was a list of roles I could get, but I'd only get one, once), made me say, "Why not?"  Selling my vote normally wouldn't be something I'd be happy about, but in return for getting a finder view....  I wouldn't have minded if I'd had to vote someone else, not you, just the fact that my one-time ability led me to find scum made me happy.  A night action that I could use to help the Town was a fair trade, and I really don't see why it's so hard to grasp that concept--no one told me to try and lynch who I was supposed to vote for, I just had to vote for that person.  So the lynch ballot could've looked like:

 

Bob (10): Player 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10

Jill (1): Meesh

 

My vote wouldn't have made THAT much of a difference, and it didn't end up mattering, as you'd know, since you're alive.  If I had viewed someone else and been told to vote you, I wouldn't have highlighted the fact I was voting you, because to me it wouldn't have been as important.

Modspeak - I'm not confirming or denying anything, but I've heard a lot of comments about my modding that have made me uncomfortable. Yes, I try very hard to give y'all a good experience, which I hope is why my games are popular, but I'm not perfect. I do, however, want to preserve the spirit of the game, so I try to do my best on that.

 

Just some general advice that everyone knows:

 

1) These games are supposed to be fun, so have fun. You won't be homeless or lose your job if you lose a game.

 

2) Try to keep your emotions under control, and if you learn how to do that, please share it with me. I'm devastated that I died in a game I was really enjoying recently.

 

3) Trust your gut.

 

4) Don't trust me. I'm known to be evil.

here's why:

at first, i thought perhaps you were being duped, and i still think that might be the case.

 

however...you quoted (more or less) a PM from the mod.  i'm thinking specifically of the last one you said (the one about me allegedly being mafia more times than not now).  there's not many other ways that the pm could've been worded.  that's effing close to quoting the PM.  

SO.  i don't think you quoted the PM.  i think you're flat out lying about it.  which would be why you haven't been modkilled for quoting it.  that's more info than a mod would give in a pm, which leads me to believe that you're lying.
