I'm trying to put together something for a homeschool project for Wolfie. We're studying the American Colonies, and when we got the the Pilgrims on the Mayflower, we got stopped by something. We can't seem to find out anywhere how many people were on the voyage? Can any of you find it? I'd sure appreciate the help!

Hey that's cool Tharengore! My family on my mom's side is British, so I always love hearing about the history. Hey, speaking of the Red Coats, I know the 'red coats' themselves have an interesting and very old history - do you know what year they started using the colour red for their coats?

Here's some Info on the Redcoats: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_coat_%28British_army%29

I'm not sure if this will help but here is an extract from The Bill of Rights: Politics, Religion, and the Quest for Justice

By John Patterson

Sep 1620 - .The group left England with two ships, the Speedwell and the larger Mayflower. The Speedwell was not seaworthy and the voyagers had to return to England. Finally, the Mayflower set sail alone from Plymouth, England  in September 1620, with 102 men, women, and children. This mixed company of "saints" and "strangers " endured a rough Atlantic passage of 65 days. .
