The Ring 3D

Paramount Pictures is moving forward with a 3D third installment in "The Ring" supernatural horror franchise reports Heat Vision.

The original 2002 thriller "The Ring", based on the popular Japanese "Ringu" horror movie franchise, was both a critical and commercial success that gave a major boost to the careers of star Naomi Watts and director Gore Verbinski (who went on to helm the "Pirates of the Caribbean" films).

It also ushered in a wave of PG-13 Asian horror film remakes like "The Grudge". However poor reviews and waning box-office for both the 'Ring' and 'Grudge' sequels as well as the critically reviled likes of "Shutter," "Dark Water," "Pulse," "Mirrors," "The Eye" and "One Missed Call" essentially ended the craze shortly after it started.

David Loucka ("Dream House") will pen the script for "Ring 3D" which will be more 'teen-centric' and will serve as more of a reboot/reinvention. A haunted Blu-ray perhaps?

Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald are in negotiations to return as producers. No director is yet set.

i don't liek any of the jap horror films.  i find nothign at all scary about them.  the Grudge is the last one i've watched and i walked out on it in the theaters about 40 mins into it becuase i couldn't take the stupidity anymore.

*shakes head*  i don't understand the draw of them honestly.

now The Strangers that movie freaked me out!!  but movies like "the Grudge" and "Blair Witch Project" are more laughable than scary.

Different movie.  The Black Sheep he is talking about is a New Zealand horror movie/black comedy about a man who, as a child, got the bloody hell scared out of him by a sheep and still can't see a sheep without freaking out, even though it's like 20 years later (he still gets therapy for it).  He goes back to his parent's sheep farm, now run by his brother who is running secret, DNA modification tests on the sheep.  While the brother is there, all the sheep become ZOMBIE SHEEP!!!! AAAHHH!!! and try to kill everything!

The tagline for the movie:  "There are 40 million sheep in New Zealand...and they're all PISSED OFF!

I love how only the Kiwi's could add the idea of a man committing sodomy with a sheep and find it funny.
