Naked Woman Ter'Angreal

When Rand was brawling with Asmodean in Rhuidean for the Crystal Sphere statuette during The Shadow Rising, there was a ter'angreal that was described along with the Twisted Red Doorframe. It was a naked woman holding a child to her breast. Does anyone know anything about this? It seems important, or why not just leave it out? But I don't remember it being mentioned before or since. But Lanfear did mention there were 3 Sa'angreal more powerful than Callandor..., two of which are the Crystal Sphere Statuettes.

There are nearly 200 embroidery patterns described in the Wheel of Time, around 50 descriptions of pottery, and the word "shawl" is mentioned 700 times according to "Ideal Seek". Why do you think describing a ter'angreal means Jodan meant it to be more powerful than Callandor?

so Mr Encyclopedia, how many different ter'angreals are mentioned? mentioning types of clothing or decorations are one thing, but why describe a 'meaning-less' ter'angreal in a place where a majority of Age of Legends items of the Power were kept? with everyone searching through books 4-6 looking for an overlooked plotline dating back to 1992, it just peaked my curiosity. sorry to offend you with my lack of creativity. perhaps i should search this site for more of your Pearls of Wisdom.

Lol, sorry if I offended you, but I just wanted you to get some perspective.

According to Wikia's WoT page there are 60 ter'angreal mentioned, and I strongly doubt we will get to know all their uses before the series ending. What I was trying to imply was that just because Jordan described them in intricate detail doesn't mean they are important. Though I may well be wrong. In the spirit of Jordan's writings, it may well be that ta'veren, meaning deus ex machina in the old tounge, will twist the plot to make the statue of a naked woman crucial to the Light in the last battle. Though I would be very disappointed if a previously unknown ter'angreal played an important role in winning the last battle.

Well, I am almost done with my re-read on tDR.  Lanfear never mentions 3 more powerful sa'angreal than Callandor.  She mentions 2.  And I always thought that it was widely accepted that these were the Choedan Kal, especially when she shivers when she discusses them.

she says there are two more powerful that can be used by a man. So if the lady holding the baby is important, i dont think it would be one of these, angreal and sa'angreal when resembling people tend to be usuable by the gender the figuring resembles, yea thats confusing. Well angreal that are resembling male figures are fro saidin, female figures are for saidar.

Personally, if I were a male AS in AOL and I had an angreal made for me, it wouldn't be a little statue of a guy.

It'd be like those lighters/pens of a woman in a bikini that turns naked when you use it.

not offended at all. i didn't think about the idea that he co-ordinates female items for females and vice versa. i guess now that it's out there that there's a hidden plot, i'm looking into everything that seems out of place during my re-read.
