Has anyone else seen the covers they use for the Amazon Kindle editions of the books.  I just saw them today and they are awesome, i did not like the one for EotW, until i saw what was in the background.  I think it is cool that they have made new covers.  they only have the first three out now but more to come, just thought i would share the news

Wow, they're ... non-ugly. Ok, I agree that EotW wasn't amazing (who's the guy climbing which mast?), but I definitely like TGH and TDR. Especially TDR - that one's really awsome. Rand looks like Rand is supposed to look, and not like he's in his 40's. Can't wait to see the rest! Do you know when the rest are coming out?

I'd definitely want those covers for the real books.

didn't rand or was it mat that climbed the mast on the spray? i think they said they are doing one a month after TGS came out.  Seeing the Tower of Genji (sp?) in the background of TEotW makes me think that someone is paying attention

is that really the tower of Ghenjei in the background?

to me that looks way too tall considering the distance. it's like it's higher than the White bloody Tower

The scene chosen for EotW doesn't feel like a very defining scene for the book, as in, it feels to me like a very generic fantasy cover, whereas the other three that are out now are a bit more specific for WoT. If I didn't know what the series was about, I'd think "Oh, a pirate novel, or something else with lots of ships". That's why I don't like the first. And I don't think it looks like Rand. Too brownish hair. Since it's supposed to be Rand, that makes me like it even less.

It seemed a natural to start the series with a portrait of a young Rand beginning an epic journey, the scope of which he could perhaps sense but not truly grasp. David¹s luminescent paint lights Rand from within. In a way, it seems to be a portrait of Rand best seen at this time, when readers know so much about what lies ahead of him.

That's from http://www.dragonmount.com/News/?p=820.

Are you sure that's not just a tree on the other side of the bank?

it could be but to me it looks shiny and it would be a HUGE tree. i don't know why they would put just one big tree in the background when we know that when Rand and Mat are on the boat they pass something that becomes major in the plot.  So my vote is the Tower.. but haha what do i know

The Eye of the World - I don't like it.

Rand's hair is brown in the art work, not red as it should be.

The Tower in the background is meant to be a flash of metallic sparkle in the distance

Not a massive thing right next to the rivers edge, or you know, everyone would know about it.

The Great Hunt - Love it

The Trollocs look kick ass!

The scene is really cool, i'm guessing it's Rand, Loial and Hurin just recapturing the Horn

Not entirely accurate, but still cool.

Good job, one of the best art work for the series.

The Dragon Reborn - Good, but would be better if this on was for "The Eye of the World"

I like it, but Rand looks a bit too much like Prince Harry for my taste.

Couple of problems with it though,

1. Rand breaks his sword in the great hunt

2. the pipe would be better suited to the eye of the world

3. as would the dragon banner

all in all, i am using these (cut square) as the artwork for my audiobook collection on itunes

I might photoshop the name of this one to be the eye of the world and find a better pic for the dragon reborn

The Shadow Rising - Like it

only 2 things wrong with it

1. where is his hat?

2. the fox head medallion should be more prominent

other than that its awesome

Well, in my opinion just about anything would top the existing book covers. They're just an embarassment in my book.

Is Sweet somehow related to RJ's wife or something? How did he get the job...and how did he keep it? I just don't understand.

lol

all true

stick men as cover art would be better

3. as would the dragon banner

no, the banner shoulod not be in EoTW, that was only mentioned like once in one of the last chapters. atleast in Dragon he has it with him the whole time

It doesn't matter that it was only mentioned once, the fact that it symbolises every Rand is, is why I thought it would have been good as The Eye of the World cover art.

To be honest the way the artist has depicted Rand in this art bares no relation to the Rand in The Dragon Reborn, as he is a bit more mature and starting to harden himself against the world.

In book 3, he's not all jolly, sitting about on a rock, sitting on Lews Therrin's banner!!!! and playing the flute.

That was my point of view dude.

that's youre opinion. but mine is that banner never plays any role in Eye.

it's not a defining moment, or he would have said something like "hey, a flag. i guess i'm the Dragon Reborn then. lets all go to Tear now"

if the banner should be anywhere it's more fitting in The Great Hunt in the scene where he unrolls it the first night of the chase, if not for the fact that that book alredy got an awesome cover
