Well, I`m not addicted, but I have spent years reading the books, and years reading several different message boards.  I remember back when the internet was brand new, one of the first places I went to was the old WOT FAQ.  I spent hours pouring over every post.

 

I have read and re-read the series numerous times.  I fist picked up TEOTW in 1996 or so, on a recommendation from a friend.  I read the first six books back to back.

 

One of my favourite books is the Lord of Chaos.

 

Some of favourite scenes are:

 

1.  Travelling the Ways

2.  The arrival of the Amyrlin in Fal Dara(I beleive it was), and her telling Rand he is the DR

3.  Rand and Mat in Rhuidean

4.  The battle of the Two Rivers

5.  The battle of Dumai Wells

6.  Nyneave vs. Moghedien

7.  Nyneave rallying the Borderlanders with the Golden Crane

8.  Elayne and Aviendha becoming sisters

 

Anyhow, just wanted to say hello and look forward to reading here for years to come.

Hi Bryan!

 

My name RL name is Deanna but I go by Miya or Telcia here at Dragonmount.  It's nice to "meet" you.  So you’re a fan of Lord of Chaos?  You should start a new thread on one of the boards to discuss why it’s tops in your opinion.  Be sure to put in the title that it has spoilers so that people who haven’t read it yet don’t have their fun spoiled accidentally.  I’d love to hear your thoughts on it! 

 

Now… onto the general info I try to offer people whenever they show up and I get to them before those stab happy folks from Shayol Ghul *winks at Edward*  Starting out at Dragonmount can be a bit overwhelming to the new person so, don't hesitate to ask for help finding your way around. 

 

You'll notice we have discussions on the books, the movie that we hope will one day be made and the video game that's in the works. 

 

Additionally you'll find social groups called "Orgs" or "Organizations" which are named after the various groups in the books.  Each group is full of people who share something in common in real life and they generally hang out, have fun, or promote some issue or cause of interest to them (example: Illumintors are into art and Brown Ajah members enjoy knowledge and learning.)

 

Lastly, you'll find the DRPSW or Dragon Reborn Portal Stone World... here you can create a character who lives in the time of the dragon reborn and roleplay him/her with other characters played by the members of the site.  Not everything in the our roleplay world is just like it is in the books (hence the name "portal stone world") but if you like rp and you like the books... I'm sure you'll find this enjoyable.

 

Again, if you need any help at all… don’t hesitate to ask any of the admins or friendly folks around the boards.
