[Movie] Wonder Woman

I'm reviving the Wonder Woman discussion in a new thread because the last one piggy backed on a Ghostbusters topic.

Beyonce says she's Wonder Woman.

I'm nervous about this.  Honestly, I don't mind Wonder Woman being cast as a black woman.  Sure, sure, Wonder Woman is Greek and has always been portrayed as white.  But honestly, how many black super heroines are there?  And isn't Wonder Woman one of those heroines all little girls wanted to be?  So why not?  It's fantasy, so it's not a big deal to me.  Besides, it's been said that any tribe of women who might have actually been the historical basis for Amazons were not Greek.  They were from the Russian Steps, as in around Mongolia, which could have made them either Slavic or Asian.  So yeah, making her black doesn't make any difference to me whatsoever.

But Beyonce?  When has Beyonce been able to act?  Does anybody here think that Beyonce has the chops to pull off one of the most beloved heroines ever?

I'm thinking not.  Honestly, I'd rather this project be shelved than something awful churned out because it is cool to make live action comic movies.

Emp...originally yes Joss was attached...he was writing the screenplay...didn't pan out well...can't remember why.

As for Beyonce playing Wonder Woman...let me just add my little....HELL NO!!!....I'm fine with someone of any color playing Wonder Woman.  I don't want sub-par acting in the role though.  Too many of us have waited for TOO long for this to get made to have the role get mutilated by someone who can't pull it off.

My pick for Wonder Woman would be along the lines of Angela Bassett or Ru-Paul (if you really want to camp it up).
