I present a piece for marimba and clarinet, based on a William Blake poem!

The Sick Rose

O Rose, thou art sick.

The invisible worm,

That flies in the night

In the howling storm:

Has found out thy bed

Of crimson joy:

And his dark secret love

Does thy life destroy.

                        - William Blake

I'd put up the score if I thought anyone would read it, but I don't think that's the case.

Hm, I like it!

I would love to go more in depth and sound like I know what I'm talking about, but I can't, so here's what I got:

I loved the mood of the piece, and I think it goes with the poem pretty well.  Although it does sound a little more...exotic, I think the word would be, than I would imagine fits a sick rose, but that could just be because of the medium you used to record it.  I guess it's just the marimba that sounds a little weird.

However, the theme fits very well, I thought.  ;D
