I didn't want to put the name of the character in the title as i can't completely remember it, which is embarassing. The mydraal shadar huan or something? No where near methinks, i'm really curious about him. Is he just a new character (possibly the DO?) or one of the ressurected chosen? Im pretty sure he isn't a forsaken as i've wikipedia'd the list of forsaken in the past as my memory is terrible. I got confused over whether he was also mordith because who was the one who was following sammael and grendael (sorry about the spelling) to the shaido wiseones? Didnt he turn from mydraal to human? Please put me out my misery lol x

Shaidar Haran.

 

First confirmed appearance is when he bullies Carridin in the TDR prologue. First appearance of the final(?) version is when he meets Demandred in the LOC prologue.

 

He is not a recycled forsaken. Rather, he is a vessel that is "inhabited" by a shadowy form of the DO. Nowhere near the DOs power, but he does have some funky abilities, like being able to block people from the True Source, and the black flames.

Also unlike other Shadowspawn, he is not compelled to obey the Forsaken.

 

Is there any living Forsaken that we havent seen meet Shaidar, other than Moridin?

Cheers, i think i got confused over when the mindtrap of mogedian was created. Was that just ishamael? Im sure it was the mydraal at first?

Shaidar Haran made the mindtrap then gave it to Moridin, the reincarnated Ishy.

Ahh, thats where i got confused! Thanks for clearing that up, i often get confused by the reincarnated forsaken. Lanfear is cyndane, theres the fella arangor? who is now a female. I think the trolloc creator is reborn and doing nothing? Theres someone who was narishma (or the other one with the similar name, harisa? terrible memory). That guy died against the purification of saidin. Oh dear, and i've just re-read the last 9...

He did not.  All scenes with him so far he has been as a myrddraal.

Demandred met him (his reporting to the Dark One)

Osangar (Aginor resurrected) & Arangar (Balthamel resurrected) met him (their resurrection)

Semirhage met him (her orders about Cabriana Mecandes)

Moghedien met him (getting mindtrapped)

Graendal & Cyndane (and Moghedien again) met him (telling Graendal that Moridin is Naeblis)

Mesaana met him (being punished for not going to the Cleansing)

Moridin might have meet him when he got the mindtraps if not at any other time.

The word "confirmed" is important. He probably already appeared in one of the first chapters in Eye of the World, when a "smiling Fade" hunts Rand & Co out of Bree.

While the smiling fade gives reason to suspect something is going on with that myrdraal, one should remember RJs words about the TDR incident. He calls this SH 0.5. With that way of thinking, the smiling myrdraal in TEOTW might possibly have been SH 0.1-0.2, ie not very much SH at all.
