Alien, the Prequel

Jon Spaihts ("Passengers," "Shadow 19") has been hired to write a prequel to 1979's "Alien" in development at 20th Century Fox reports Variety.

 

Preceding that first film, the project marks the return of Ridley Scott to the franchise with the helmer returning to the director's chair.

 

Spaihts got the job after pitching the studio and Scott Free, which will produce the film.

I'm not sure if this is really needed, but then it's Ridley Scott, so I've not lost all faith in this

I'm not real big on Prequel's...that being said...I loved Star Trek, and I like the Aliens series so I'm willing to give it a chance.

Well, it can't be any worse then AvP right? (Though, I still enjoyed watching AvP and AvP2, it didn't make them goood movies, not Alien good. And I HIGHLY doubt a prequal will be Alien good.

Seriously doubt it.
