BSG Mafia - Day 4

I think Thorum picking somebody and calling them guilty when they aren't this early on would be a very dumb move on his part, when he could save such a ploy for closer to end-game when it would really count.

You obviously don't remember my Dirty Cop Mafia in which Mynd did just that.  And won.

No, I don't remember that Dsage, but then, if I recall correctly I had to pull out of the game early due to school taking over my life.

I'll tell you why people find Thorum is acting funny - it's because I'm the Finder.  I knew that he was guilty (I even left my vote on him, but didn't want to be outed yet) and I took the opportunity last night to investigate his chief defender - [glow=red,2,300]Hybrid[/glow] and found him to be guilty.

The best way to check which of us is telling the truth is to lynch Hybrid - if we lynch Kivam then we could lose 2 innocents.

and how worried you were about getting night killed.  Fascinating.

Please provide a quote where I posted my concern about being NK'd Night 2.

Sure why not.

I thought I was gone for sure. :-\

A couple of comments on this:

- there could be two Finders

- are you sure you are a normal finder (a.k.a. have explicitely asked it to Lia)?

- if you're speaking the truth & are right, that's wonderful news. We have two of the maffia (Kivam & Hybrid).

- if you're lying, that's wonderful news. We have two of the maffia (Kivam & Jeran).

- if I'm lying, you also have two maffia (just replace Kivam's name with mine).

So, could you please answer the second question? That would make the innocents almost-victorious. Thanks ;D

Oh, and please: could no one vote for someone else than Thorum, Kivam, Jeran, or Hybrid?

Another day with a random lynch wouldn't be good.

I claimed Finder.  And it only worked because we got lucky.  The person I claimed was mafia was a bomb (unknown to me) and two vigilantes tried to kill her, resulting in a quadruple kill (at least).

Another thing.

Why would I chose Kivam as a cylon-claim if it wasn't real? He's probably the person less likely to get lynched today.

If you're going to try to use my voting record against me at least take the time to go investigate to make sure you get it right.

Well, crud. I thought I had it right. That's what I get for reading stuff backwards trying to find evidence. I truly am sorry about that, JLM.

[glow=red,2,300]Hybrid[/glow]

I believe Jeran to be the real Finder.

Also, if you want to ask me a question, ask me between now and in 24 hours. I'll go on LOA till Tuesday very late after a quick check of this threat then.

Since Jeran counter-claimed, I doubt that he would have any incentive to be lying.  Since he is a 100% correct finder, I believe him and my vote is going on [glow=red,2,300]Hybrid[/glow].

Then the humans have almost won. If there ain't 5 or 6 cylons. *Shivers*

Let's hope the rest is smart enough to find out quickly enough which of us (either, neither, or both) is a real finder.

I don't see why Jeran would counterclaim unless he was the true Finder.

You claim to be the finder but when you say that you hope we can figure out which of you is the real finder is suspicious to me.  If I was in your shoes, if I knew that I was the finder, I would be pressing the attack.  But you didn't even vote for him.  That alone seems suspicious.  Why would you not vote for the fake finder?  That's why I believe that Jeran is the real finder and that you are a Cylon.

At the risk of defending Thorum, I think he's making the right play here - he knows for sure that Kivam is guilty as per his Finder reading... he doesn't know for sure that Jeran is not a second Finder.  We should either lynch Kivam or me.  Risking losing a Finder this early would not be a smart play.

Illiara, without going into WIFOM arguments over motives, who do you think is more suspicious in this game, me or Kivam?  Let that guide your vote.

My point exactly.  I did it once.  Seems like "an awful lot of time" to me, too.

You may well have.  It HAS been a while.  I had also forgotten that Barm had to drop out.

Still, my point remains.

That is true.  But it just felt a bit heavy-handed to me.  And by "an awful lot of time for an innocent," I was being relative.  No one else did it even once, IIRC. *shrugs*

Still, my point remains.

My point (besides the correction bit) was that circumstances are likely different.  We won that game in that night because Catina was a bomb and two vigs targetted her, leading to three kills from that alone.  It was later in the game, too.

@ Jeran:

A thought just occurred to me.  Let's say that you're innocent and you're telling the truth.  Why would you not investigate Thorum first?  After all, for all you know he is innocent.  But if you were telling the truth, hypothetically speaking, and I flipped "guilty" (note: not "Cylon", not "mafia", not "cult", but "guilty") as you said I would, people would immediately assume Thorum was "guilty" with me.  Why not take the extra night to figure things out so that if, in this hypothetical situation, Thorum was innocent, you wouldn't lose an extra Finder?

Which has nothing to do with my point.

I was adressing that yes, a mafia could definitely claim Finder and pin an innocent as guilty.

The circumstances of how the said mafia won, does not enter into it.

Actually, you were the one who first brought up winning:

I was merely pointing out that if you were going to metagame, you might as well metagame within context.

I through in the winning simply for emphasis.  It had no actual bearing on my point.

Then I misinterpreted your point.  My apologies.  :P

I'm surprised that Jeran did not jump on Thorum right away in his counterclaim.  This smells like a large web being weaved over us all right now.
