Did Mat tell the girls???

I'm on my second read through and noticed something I've never thought of before... At the end of "The Dragon Reborn" (book 3) Mat and Juilin "rescue" Egwene, Elayne, and Nynaeve.  During the first half of "The Shadow Rising" (book 4) Everyone is discussing what to do blah blah blah... My question is this: Mat obviously tells the girls about Queen Morgase and her new love, Gaebril... Even if no one suspects him as really being Rahvin, Mat must have mentioned that "Gaebril" wanted Elayne dead... Why does no one even mention going to Caemlyn to deal with this "Gaebril"?  The girls run off the hunt Black Ajah, Rand and team goes to the Three-Fold-Land, and Perrin goes to the Two Rivers... No one wants to save the queen??? :(

and... Thanks for having me... long time fan

The reason no goes at that moment might be that they saw the other things as more important.  Or maybe they forgot of the threat or maybe they thought that going at the moment might have ruined things.

Though Rand deals with him near the end of Fires of Heaven because of the supposed rumor of Morgase being dead.

In the Fires of Heaven News Comes to Cairhien a little more than half way through, Mat brings this up.

[...]"Gaebril's the one that wanted Elayne killed.  I tried to tell her that, but you know how she always knows more than a mudfooted farmer. [...]"

Elayne chose to ignore Mat because she thinks that Andor has queens not kings, so she doesn't understand what Gaebril's motivation to kill her would be.  Since she can't think of a good motivation, she decides Mat is mistaken or exaggerating.  So mostly Mat is ignored due to having low credibility with the wondergirls and their own arrogance.

Was it compulsion?

Which are you asking?::

-Was Rahvin's treatment of Morgase Compulsion

-Was Elayne's realization due to Compulsion

If the former, then yes

If the later, then no

As usual they didn't take Mat seriously. It's said in the book (maybe it's Egwene) they think Mat probably has been mistaken, it's impossible that Morgase is under control of a man, she's the queen and what a queen, so they don't go on with this story, a great mistake!
