Mistborn: An Awesome Trilogy

I just wanted to come on here and give Sanderson kudos.  I read the first Mistborn book in an effort to 'test out' Sanderson's writing to get a feel for how AMoL would turn out.  I was quite pleased to find that Mistborn: The Final Empire was a really really good book.  Then I got the next one and read it and it was really good as well.  Then when the third one finally hit shelves, I bought it and I must say it blew the other two out of the water.  It wrapped the entire trilogy up beautifully.  Everything tied in together like threads of a beautiful tapestry.  What a masterful work of art.

Anyone who hasn't read the Mistborn trilogy, I'd definitely suggest reading it.  Any agreements?  Disagreements?

The Mistborn Trilogy is my favorite Epic Fantasy trilogy EVER!!, and I have been reading fantasy and science fiction ever since the early 80's. I have read literally thousands of novels, and to me, The Mistborn Trilogy is the very best epic fantasy Trilogy ever written. I never heard of Brandon Sanderson, until after it was revealed that he would be writing AMOL and finishing up the WOT after RJ's most unfortunate death. After reading The Mistborn Trilogy as well as Elantris, I have absolutely no doubts that Brandon was the perfect writer to choose to finish and complete the WOT.

I was at the bookstore picking up a replacement for my missing tDR and I decided to put Sandersons books through my checklist.  That usually involves checking out the cover (even if the art is bad, if the picture tells a story that's a plus), then I read the blurb on the back, and if that piques my interest I read a random paragraph from the middle of the book.  If that paragraph draws me in, I buy the book.  I strayed from that formula once and regretted it.  Sanderson passed better than any author except for RJ.

Well I'm certainly glad to see that I'm not the only one. :)  I find that sometimes I'm waaaaaay too easy when it comes to books and movies.  I like just about anything as long as it's not horrendous.  But this trilogy stuck out to me above others.  I'd say that Sanderson is up there in a class with RJ and George RR Martin even.

Yea, same here. I picked up the first Mistborn book to check out Brandon's writing... I absolutely loved the trilogy.  Because of the Mistborn series, I read Warbreaker and enjoyed everything in it.  I haven't read Elantris yet, but plan to.  I'm really interested to see how he does with his The Way of Kings...

I have read Elantris and the Mistborn Trilogy. I highly recommend Elantris because I liked it alot. However, if I have to compare the two, then I would say that I enjoyed the Mistborn Trilogy somewhat more than I did Elantris.
