I am a longtime reader (I think I picked up the first one around 1997), and occasional DM browser.

 

Personally, my name is Aaron, I am 25 and am a lifelong resident of Colorado. I am an auditor by trade, and enjoy reading, running and cycling 'n stuff in my free time.

 

And my favorite character is probably Matt; that dude is a complete badass and overall good guy, but seems to get treated like crap by half the other characters.

Hey, welcome to DM, Vined!

 

Matt really is the coolest character in all the books.  I love him to death.  He's one of those people that SHOULD be larger than life, but has the right people around him, and the right character flaws, to (almost) balance out his uber-awesomeness. :)

 

Anyway, what, if anything, are you looking forward to most about Dragonmount? There's WoT discussions, Orgs/community stuff, RP, and other general forum-type fun things.  :D

Audit work isn't fun - well, accountancy audits anyway. I don't enjoy the paperwork chasing. Give me tax returns and accounts that don't require audits!  ;D

Thanks for the welcomes all; some dumb questions:

 

Alright, not promising I'm gonna get super involved just yet (I have too much stuff going on right now, and its summer!), but I am curious about the difference between the Turnings of the wheel area, and the Dragon role playing area. And if one wanted to play around in rp a little, whats the guidance for setting up the player bio?

 

and whats the deal with the "orgs?" Are those just general discussion areas for those so inclined to discuss there, or are they more like a forum "guild" sort of thing.

 

 

ps: and financial audit work and papertrail stuff is boring, which makes me very happy I don't do that anymore :)

To a fellow Auditor (Financial that is), Welcome! I hope you have fun here at DM. To answer your question, Orgs are discussion groups about certain topics. Like the Illuminators Org - we talk about all things Creative. If you love to write, draw, paint, sing, or act; this is the place for you. Visit all the Orgs and find a topic that you find interesting.

I'd say that's just about right, although I'll place emphasis on one thing:  Orgs are not JUST discussion groups.  They are themed, yes, but they are community-based as well, so you'll be able to talk about stuff not related to the theme, if you like.

TO answer the other question, the diffrence between the Turning of the Wheel and the DRPSW is that the turning of the wheel part dosnt have any real rules besides the PG 13 one, you can RP about what ever you want.

 

Player Bio rules differ from Division to Division, it is always best to look at a Divisions website for their bio rules.
