Actually, DJ, I disagree.  One thing needed to happen for you guys to win:  Lynch/Kill Myndrunner.  If you had done him in instead of Liathiana, you could have won.

I tried to kill Myndrunner on night 2 but obviously failed.  It didn't occur to me that I would have a less than 100% chance of success nor that there would be soooo many vigilantes.  I was thinking that Mynd might have been an Innocent Nexus because when I tried to kill him on night 2 there were suddenly 3 deaths.  I toyed with the idea that he was a Godfather but I had known there were more vigilantes than me and then Liathiana I would have tried to kill Myndrunner on night 3.

I had also thought about killing Cubarey on night 3 because he seemed sorta scummy.

This, I think, was a game the mafia should win every time. Catina had the only real finder abilyti. So it really came down to gut of the Vigs. We had had to kill them off. cause we would all ned to have one a $&"" of a job to figure out what finders we were...

 

that we survived this long, actually just came to Barm throwing in the towel early, and me killimg MCS. So who other used their vig roles, and to what effect?

 

Actually, DJ, it goes both ways.  In a normal mafia game, there is only one finder and one healer.  In this one, everyone but the mafia was some kind of cop, so we didn't know who to kill.  The one thing we didn't want everyone to figure out was that if everyone viewed the same person and then lynched that person, it would begin to tell what kind of cop each person was.  

 

I thought you guys had me too.  We were planning what to do with the rest of the game with me out of the picture, but when no one else claimed any kind of significant viewing, Hybrid came forward with his fake on on Lia.  We actually thought she was the serial killer, but even if she wasn't, we had a backup plan.

Yes, it was difficult.  I'm not disputing that.  I must admit, this was more like a test for me.  And you were all my guinea pigs.  I wanted to test a few things, mostly a Finding Ballot.  I'm not sure how that worked out.  I have my likes and dislikes about it.

 

What did you all think about the FB?

MY looking scummy was on purpose, the same as my going ballistic on Mynd. With Mynd saving MCS on day two with his Tayla is a Cult leader theory and Hybrid boldly claiming that he had a finding of Lia as dirty, we wanted to make sure that any vote to lynch would have to contend with a lot of players looking scummy.

 

Dsage my only suggetion would be that if you have the Mafia having the ability to recruit a favor maybe they should only have three original members.

 

Danya telegraphed that she was a doctor on her first post questioning MCS claim that he was a doctor.

As you and I discussed privately, its a fine line to not drop hints at ones viewing.  I think the concept is sound, but there probably needs to be more specific guidelines on what is considered a reveal and what is not.  For example, which of the following statements are harmless and which violate the rules?

 

"I viewed Hybrid last night and found he was scum."  

 

"I got my viewing, and I think we should lynch Hybrid!"

 

"I know I am not a Normal Cop based on my viewing!"

 

"I have reason to believe that we should lynch Hybrid!"  

 

As you can see, there is a lot of gray area that depends on the context.  If you are too flexible in this guideline, then it makes the finder ballot almost irrelevant; however, if you go too far the other direction, you could stymie the game.  I'm not sure where exactly the line should be.  

 

The only other two minor suggestions that I have for this otherwise fantastic game is 1) have some kind of penalty if we do not reach a majority, like a random player dies, and 2) consider ending the game when there is a majority.  The latter would have meant our doom in this game, but it would also keep everyone on their toes.

Since we could not trust our viewings, our strongest weapons was our Vig roles. That is the clue to winning this game, as I see it. But I agree. If Jeran had managed to kill Mynd, or we had lynched him, we would have stood a better chance. But considering If Barm had not left the game, we would have been even worse of.

 

Did Catina know she had 100% readings?

 

In games like this, I actually think we should probably have tried a "mass revealing". It could have been to our advantage...

 

And Dsage. I had an awsome game. That I think maybe it was a bit unbalanced might have to do with me just losing...  :'(

 

 

the Finding Ballot in this game, with all the findings we have, made it possibly less confusing for us. It was more a gut feeling game than anything. If everyone would out their findings, I think we would have been worse of.

I agree with these suggestions.

 

As for the deadline that I had, I wanted you to have the ability to communicate, discuss, and decide, "Do we *really* want to lynch this one?".

 

My next game, however, will not be this complicated.  Well, at least, it won't be complicated in teh SAME way! ;D

 

And I'm going to make sure I have the rules down the right way before I start! :P

Exactly, DJ!  I saw a scene where everyone was revealing, and I was like, "Um...no!"  I needed some organization with it.

Oh, and the Finders were all random.  I did not know beforehand how many Full Finders I'd have.

 

And nobody knew what % of success they'd have with their Kill/Finding/Healing/ect.

one thing Im a bit sad about. Why am I NEVER evil? I was evil in your cult came, but I had just got a burnout from playing too many games, and wasnt really up for it.. Barm was overlord, and he was olso burned out. So we were crap. Apart from that, I have never been evil..  :'(

 

Oh. I came in as a substitute in the last suras game and won as cult, but that doesnt really count...

Excellent Game Dsage, I kept up with this after I was out. Oh and I was going to kill Mynd on that second night, I just knew he was a lying liat who lies, just couldn't prove it, and I can't believe you let him off the next day...lol

Whew, good game everyone!  Good job, newbies, that was a hell of a game to start out with.

 

Several very lucky (and some unlucky) things happened for us.  For example, the mass killing last Night as well as Jeran failing to kill Myndrunner.  On the other hand, we lost Barm, and mcs and CUBAREY made a few newbie mistakes (like editing posts) that put them in the spotlight and resulting in our hand being forced to recruit mcs.  Luckily I was able to lurk for a long time (which is ironic, because I hate lurkers) and then pull off a successful fake claim (which was only possible because of the role information mcs gave us when we recruited him) that apparently got you guys so confused you targeted Catina.  ;D

 

I feel sorry for Thorum - he was spot on in accusing Mynd and mcs, but somehow we managed to stop both of them from being lynched at the last minute.  DSage - I like the idea of not ending day immediately when a majority is reached.  For one thing, it prevents quick lynches and it leads to more discussion.  However, the deadlines were quite long once the majority had been reached.  Perhaps omce a majority is reached, the time remaining until the deadline should get decreased?

Actually, it drove me crazy even before I was killed. Andtrust me, I beat myself up over not healing myself instead ofviewing myself. I KNEW Mynd was evil already the day before, the way he turned the vote against Talya instead of sticking to the MCS vote  ::)
