Just make a couple less mistakes :D

[glow=red,2,300]Mynd[/glow].

We have 2 mafia dead, meaning appr. 2 left.

Why Mynd? Three guesses...

To help you on your way: he made sure a maffia (mcs) was not lynched, and an innocent person (talya) was.

Posted

.

No, but he didn't plan putting his own vote back on mcs. Even if he wasn't followed.

If either Thorum or cosmic panda actually viewed Mynd and found him dirty it would be nice if they nominated themselves for a Finding Ballot. Otherwise, it looks like no one had a dirty finding and we are back to guessing at people's motivations.

Does anyone have any ideas on who the non-aligned killers might be (which at this point is as important to figure out as who is a dirty cop)?

Nice way to piss off the mod. Before we talk about viewings I'm PMing Dsage to see how much I can say without actually nominating myself.

Who do you think the killers might be? It's important to give your own suspicions as well.

On a hunch, I think that you are a psycho, [glow=red,2,300]Cubarey[/glow].

1) You ask for opinions yet don't give thoughts yourself; classic sign of a non-townie who hasn't been thinking about the game in the same way as the townies, and doesn't have a list of suspicion, or anything approaching it.

2) You leap to the conclusion that the killers are non-aligned. We don't have any evidence as to that, nor to the contrary, do we? And yet you seem sure. Hmmm.

If you read back a few posts its clear that no one else seemed to get a dirty finding on night 2 thus I was suuggesting that if you did get one you should nominate yourself as a firm finding would be a hell of a lot better then attempting to read peoples motivations which has not exactly worked so far in the game. Also last night you made a point of stressing that we should wait to see what happened before voting, from that I got that people were going to try to view Mynd. You and Thorum were are the only two in Day three to post and not indicate whether you got a dirty read so my suggestion was reasonable. Also I did not ask that you reveal your finding only to nominate yourself if you got a dirty finding. I did this becauuse we need to make sure that we lynch a dirty cop today as we could lose as many as three players on Night 3. Now if no one has a dirty finfing and you have an innocent read on Mynd (which is without a dirty read the most logical choice to lynch) by all means nominate yourself but I would rather have the certainty of a dirty read if at all possible.

As to my suspicions of who might be the non-dirty mafia killers, three come to mind. Jaren who has been pretty inactive but once Tayla was fond to be innocent jumped in with the observation that the case for a Cult was closed. Which to me implied that there were no third party characters which I still believed quite possible. I also somewhat mistrust Lia and hybrid which have been mostly absent from posting and if they voted only did so at the very last second.

As to my leaping to the conclusion that the killers are non-alined, remember the "Other" and "another Other" alignments in Dsages original post? Moreover, one of the two could be a vigilante killer and technically be a clean cop but I thought that the Vigilante killer always got findings of guilty which would make him about as dangerous as a solo win player or dirty cop. The other killer is either a solo win player, a member of a second mafia group (doubtful as at this point in the game we have no evidence of its existence) or a crazy cop/psycho cop that is as dangerous a dirty cop or vigilante. Thus whether they are non-aligned or aligned their findings are flawed they need to be dealt with or we lose whether or not we find and kill all the dirty cops.

Not a good suggestion on your part as that would indicate to me that you are probably a dirty cop.

Here is my current list of most suspicious.  They are presented in the order in which they cast their first ballot on day 3 which is the order they appear in my notes I used to make this list.  This does not mean that I think everyone else is not suspicious nor that I won't consider adding or subtracting to my list, just that this is my current most suspicious list.

Myndrunner

Cons

  • The whole Talya/Cult affair

Pros

  • mcs voted him on Day 1
  • With all the suspicion in the air surely someone (hopefully not only the dearly departed) viewed him on night 2 and no one has come forward yet with a green nomination

Catina

Cons

  • Was quick to jump on Talya initially
  • Joined in on the Talya as Cult lynch
  • Quick green nomination for someone who she said was innocent.  Mcs very quickly agreed by voting her for a green finding. Conveniently, Danya died the next night.  This could be a charade designed to make her look innocent

Pros

  • Danya did turn out to be innocent after all
  • She did have a vote on mcs before voting to lynch Talya

Hybrid

Cons

  • Could be an active lurker i.e. posting enough to seem to contribute but not enough to seem suspicious.
  • On Day 3 put an early vote on Thorum then unvoted well before the deadline and then never cast another vote leaving us with less voting history than other people
  • On Day 1 voted for Danya who we now know to be innocent (Granted other innocents also voted Danya on Day 1)

Pros

  • Hasn't done anything overtly suspicious that I can recall

Really?  Didn't you just say we may be back to guessing at people's motivations?

Otherwise, it looks like no one had a dirty finding and we are back to guessing at people's motivations.

The first guess which happens to be aimed at you triggers an instant reaction.  Perhaps a guilty conscience???

Wow. So, after reading, I see that no one got a reading worthy voting themselves for?  We still need to hear from Dark Justice and Hybrid, hopefully one of them got a mafia reading.  Either way, I must remind folks (like Catina and Thorum) that we should wait for someone to nominate themselves for revealing their viewing before we proceed with a lynch.

A couple facts for Thorum:

1) I led the lynch on MCS

2) After tweaking you a bit, I replaced my vote on MCS, clinching the lynch

3) It was Talya and Peacesells who refused to vote MCS, not me.

4) I never bought the whole healer claim.

5) Talya voted herself instead of MCS.

You obviously didn't get any kind of viewing last night, or you would have nominated yourself in green today.  The lynching of Talya is an example for us all to learn from, we cannot afford to be as rash as we were yesterday.  Why are you and Catina so eager to lynch me before anyone has revealed their findings?  Again, I hope you all didn't waste your finding on me last night.

[glow=green,2,300]Mynd[/glow]  Maybe what I viewed will be helpful in some way to our overall gameplay.

Jeran and others please re-read my post and what I was responding to carefully, then re-read it again, and think about what I was saying.

I'm not usually this inactive, I just got hit with a bunch of things during spring break (family outings, bank stuff, class enrollment, house cleaning, etc.).  But that's all over now.

Funny that you say that, Mynd.  I've got exactly what we need.

[glow=green,2,300]Hybrid[/glow].

Oh, and [glow=red,2,300]Liathiana[/glow].

Also, I'm surprised at the people who have been trying to rush a lynch on Mynd.  Mynd's lynch feels way too easy, especially with the number of people who have jumped on it before everyone checked in without nominating themselves.

And they were both wrong on this, as has been shown already.

Other peoples' readings are useless untill at least 3 nights have passed, since we have no idea who is paranoid/normal/... cop. I only trust my own viewings, and even those only very limited.

Funny that you say that, Mynd.  I've got exactly what we need.

[glow=green,2,300]Hybrid[/glow].

To make Mynd happy: [glow=green,2,300]Hybrid[/glow]

Oh' date=' and [glow=red,2,300']Liathiana[/glow].

She would be the only other vote I could go in (apart from Mynd). Still don't know why, but still don't get any kind of "not-mafia" feeling from her.

especially with the number of people who have jumped on it before everyone checked in without nominating themselves.

I've already responded on this for my part.

Oh, and, mcs: I'm in deep awe of you: you successfully false-claimed healer. Congratulations.

All right I stand corrected.  Your second (longer post) responding to cosmicpanda was much clearer than the one I had quoted.

Is this true?  I ask this as a legitimate question from a newbie and not as sarcasm or finger pointing.

I did a couple of scenarios and you should be able to trust your own viewings after 2 views either from viewing yourself one night or from having viewed 2 people who are now dead.  The following is all hypothetical and not suggestive of any actual findings.  Any resemblance to actual findings is purely coincidental.

Let's assume that Hybrid does, in fact have just what we need.  He could have, say, viewed mcs on night 1 and got a Guilty result.  This would mean Hybrid is either Sane, Insane or Paranoid.  Then on night 2 he views himself and comes up with an Innocent result.  Now that mcs is known to be Guilty and Hybrid knows himself to be guilty this would mean that he is Sane and he can trust any further readings.  Other scenarios lead to different results (naive etc.) but he would still know his sanity.

As for trusting others' readings can we ever?  Unless they are caught out in a lie about their findings then lynch time!

Sorry I had a typo in my Learning Your Sanity question post.

though way too defensive, I think.

And correct me if I'm wrong, did he actually address my vote at all?

Without totally breaking the rules I will simply state that if you read my posts (including the longer one as Jaren stated) and think about how I responded you will see that I in fact addressed your vote.
