here's the lyrics...hope you enjoy!

…No Bar To My Call (The Great Hunt, Pt. 2)

Curled, golden Horn

Object of the Legends

Summon through your song

The Heroes of the Ages

No iron is hard

No mountain is tall

For, “The grave is no bar to my call”

Mount and spur your horse!

Gallop with the wind

Nothing must bar the course

The Great Hunt begins

Make haste! Sniff out the trail

Of something far more vile

Upon the task at hand rides

The hope of all mankind

She walks the earth again

Daughter of the Night

“Between us it never ends”

The Pattern grips you tight

The heron wades in your palm

The blood you deny

The banner you dread the most

Do you still defy?

(Chorus)

Bards will sing our songs

Gleemen tell our tales and our stories

Think only of salvation

Not of greatness and all the glory

For the grave is no bar to my call

From Stone to Stone

Scenes of what might be

Straying you away

From your destiny

Vitality so great

In the void it waits

Corruption by the taint

In the void it waits

Bards will sing our song

Gleemen tell our tales and our stories

Think only of salvation

Not of greatness and all the glory

Draw and bare your steel

Blade rang on blade

The heron’s now yours for real

Slay or be slain

Duty runs in your veins

Summoned Heroes aid

And now, fulfill your fate

Ride the weave of the Age!

Bards will sing our song

Gleemen tell our tales and our stories

Think only of salvation

Not of greatness and all the glory

For the grave is no bar to my call

Not bad, I listen to a lot of metal so I have a bit of an ear for it. The solos were decent and the lyrics good( after I read them.) Didnt really have a hook that I heard, nothing that came to mind directly when thinking about the song. Also, maybe its just me, but it seemed to lag a bit a parts right when I was getting into it. Otherwise, good job, keep it up man.

Breaking it down...

Musically: It is obvious you know how to play your instruments, no complaints about that. However, when it comes to songwriting, there are two things you should learn, Less is more and kill your darlings. Frankly, there is too much going on. There is a reason why pretty much all successful bands stick to a formula based variations of verse-chorus-bridge; It works. You toss in enough bits and pieces to make three songs, and that is just confusing.

Vocals: While the low mix made it a bit hard to hear really well, the singer seems to be a bit uncomfortable. Not much, but maybe make the song one or two steps lower. If he is struggling in the studio, it might turn into a nightmare on stage.

Lyrics: Stands quite well compared to most fantasymetal, even if I would personally have changed a couple of lines.

I will post my opinion as a long time Metal fan. The drums kinda sucked. Basic at best and they were hardly contributing in the beginning. They kept time so they were not a complete failure.

Guitars = very nice. They saved the song. I was looking for a real hard hitting bass guitar riff but found none but lead were right on.

Singer, well the voice sucked. It won't inspire many fans I think. Its way to '80's almost hair metal, almost but still hard not to wince at.

I would suggest reconfiguring the drums to be something more then just stock. It sounds like some nice double bass kicks but again its all stock and the start really sucks.

The bridge coming in at 4.29 was decent but compared to the guitars prior, it was a bit lackluster...was hoping to hear some great changeover and the wammy/amp effect kinda sucked. And the Mega Man effect at the very end...lose it, please. Guitars at 6.03 get an A+

Overall it kept a solid head banger beat so thats always a plus.

Sorry if that was harsh. I don't think people can improve with only bootlicker comments from family/friends. My band worked hard for several years and then decided we just sucked to much to continue lol, so I got used to hard remarks but it makes a man better.

Great way to take two loves and bring them togather, in that spirit a great job. I would only make one final suggestion, lose the lyrics and start over with something far more personally poetic to your experience in the books and keep it more ambigious so its not immediately pointing to what your at, let the fan bring in there own interpretation.

Again, sorry if it reads harsh. Simon was my favorite judge.
