Overlooked but Important at TG

So there are a lot of characters who whilst they have been instrumental in many of the plots, are only 'secondary' characters, and we could easily forget them.

However, many of these characters are likely to be instrumental in the final battle also, and I wanted to see what you thought of my little list:

Gareth Bryne

'Trom' - Galad's colleague

Byar Jnr

Asunawa

Abel Cauthon

Tallanvor

... the guy with Morgase... the innkeeper...  :-[ forget his name

People like Siuan, Leane

Bashere

I'm not asking for discussion whether they are secondary characters, or whether they have been instrumental, but on where you think their character will end up, pre-, during and post-TG.

Are you referring to Master Gill?

I think Gareth, Siuan, and Leane will play very important roles in TG (though I can't quite put a finger on what).

What Bashere is going to do is anyone's guess; he's kind of out there at times.

Will the White Cloaks provide support leading up to and at TG?  Under Galad, I feel that they might.  Who will they throw their support behind though?  Both sides (Seanchan and Rand) use channelling and the WC's don't seem to fit in well with either.

The one with Galad when he kills Valda - Byar?

There were three people with Galad when he kills Valda.  Trom, Byar, and Bornhald.  I only ask because your original post says "Byar Jnr" and I don't know if you're confusing Bornhald Junior with Byar.

Out of your list we will definitely see most of the characters because they are involved in Book 10. My opinion puts Gareth Brynne, Tallanvor, Trom, Byar, and Gill in TG. They are Soldiers and they will be used in some way wether on the offensive or protecting someone (Gill protecting Morgase). Asunawa I can't remember who that is. Siuan, Leane are able to channel again and will as Aes Sedai be used (Just try to tell Siuan she can't, I think she should have been Green).

On your list only Abel Cauthon is a question and I really hope both him and Tam get involved. It would really be cool to see both fathers and sons having a reunion and be dedicated to the fight together even Master Luhan.

AHa!! you have uncovered my blonde-ness. Yes, I was confusing the two misguided idiots. I meant either/both. Which one is 'after' Perrin? I meant the other one  ;D

Asunawa is.. can't remember his title. He's the head 'Questioner'. The one that is reading the book on the Light in the prologue of CoT - raises suspicions. He is 'nowhere to be seen' after Galad kills Valda.

Re' Tam and Abel, I originally typed 'Tam and Abel' but then changed it to 'Abel Cauthon' because i thought it was pretty much pre-conceived that Tam would feature with Rand or Perrin :)

Re' the other characters, that's what I wanted to see - surely Gareth B is a bigger character than simply leading Egwene's army to defeat the WT?

** LOL on an aside, my partner has just looked over my shoulder and said "Who's 'Gareth B'?" I said "Gareth Bryne, he's leading Egwene's army". His response was "... oh for f^ck's sake... we need to get you some help." He doesn't read much...

They both sort of are out to get Perrin.  Byar because he's convinced Perrin is a Darkfriend.  Bornhald because he's convinced Perrin is responsible for his father's death at Falme.  Byar is the really thin one who beats Perrin and Egwene when they are prisoners in TEOTW.  Bornhald is the one who confronts Rand and later the whole party in Baerlon.

I think he may be right.

But that's Bornhald Sr., right? We meet Jr. in the Two Rivers, trying to arrest Perrin.

We first meet him in EotW, as Hybrid says. Then we see him again in TGH, then in TDR he confronts Egwene & co when they're returning to the Tower, and Verin reprimands her for scaring off Dain's men with the Power.

Bornhald Sr - Old, kindly, grandfather-like guy who leads the legion which captures Perrin and Egwene.  Dies at Falme while charging the Seanchan.

Bornhald Jr - Young hot-headed son of Bornhald Sr.  Encounters Rand in Baerlon, confronts the party when they are leaving Baerlon.  Encounters Egwene and the other girls when they are returning from Falme.  Is convinced Perrin is a Darkfriend because of Byar's word.

Byar - Bornhald Sr's aide, of sorts.  Beats Perrin and Egwene when they are captured.  Believes Perrin to be a Darkfriend who led Bornhald Sr into a trap at Falme.

'Trom' - Galad's colleague

Talk about an obscure character. I had to look him up. Aside from being with the Whitecloaks at the next battle, hopefully with Shadowspawn, I can't see him doing anything of important. Maybe he'll die a heroic death saving Galad.

I like it how so many of these minor characters are closer to the fore by the end of KoD. I want Tam to have a part in Tarmon Gaidon-it should turn out that he really WAS a blademaster.

Where did Hurin go?

first of all hybrid was right on the sr/jr/byar topic read what he typed and ull know the truth, sidenote byar after witnessing sr die at falme, cause sr told him to stand back told jr that it was all perrins fault( sr had seen perrin galloping away in one of the villages he went to and his whitecloak head did the whole everyone around me is a darkfriend thing and decided perrin most be leading the whole fake army commanded by the darkfriend aes sedai( course it was seanchan but he didnt know)), hince the whole 2 rivers purge by the white cloaks fain/wormwood told them he was from there along with rand

also tam WAS/is? a blademaster the sword was rightfully his

read the great hunt again when rand confront the amyrlin moraine specifically lays out tams past, went to fight for illian army, became a commander in the companions( they specifically protected the illian king as tam told perrin in shadow rising, idle talk while dealing with whitecloaks) he earns the sword from the blademaster council ro w/e then meets his future wife, kari was it?, who tries to convince him to give up sword, fighting on dragonmount he find rand in arms of dead tigraine(maiden of spear) then gives up sword to take rand and kari back to emonds field( kari wasnt from there, not sure where she was from illian probably) never to touch the blade again untill the o so thrilling winternight

ps hope kari was her name, lack of memory of that

trakand_01's partner thinks she may need some help. I.e., she may be a little bit on the crazy side. I was agreeing with him, she is a little bit on the crazy side, and proably does need help. She is a member of these boards after all, a sure sign that she has started to lose touch with reality.
