Hey, how's everyone doing? I've actually been coming to DM for about 5 years now, but had never really considered to join the forums.  ::)

Anyway, I started reading WoT probably about 8 years ago when I was in high school. I'm a US Marine now, 23, and currently I'm stationed in Baku, Azerbaijan as a guard for the US Embassy there. I'm currently a solo-artist, for acoustic rock, so if anyone cares to take a listen, let me know I always appreciate people opinions. ;) Furthermore, As I'm sure the majority of those on this site, I'm flipping back and forth between different ideas for novels, and my brother and I are actually planning on co-authoring a series, based loosely on several characters that we had created when we were young and carried them through all the different campaign worlds we came up with as we were growing up.

I have very high hopes for AMoL, as Brandon Sanderson is an extremely talented writer. Of course it won't be the same as if RJ had finished it, but I was relieved after the announcement came out and I read his books (Elantris, and Mistborn Tri) to get a feel for him.

Don't be strangers, I get pretty bored out here and always enjoy talking about WoT.

Oh, also, any other Kindle owners out there? I got mine so that I could take a lot of books with me, and not have the weight and take up space, as I'll be in several countries each year.

Anyway. Why aren't any of WoT books available for kindle?

(if I should start a new thread for this somewhere, I'll gladly do it. Just let me know where ;) )

Hola, Danith!  Is Captain Lasica still out there, or did you overlap with her at all?  Or was she in Georgia... I really should've remembered these things >__<  I should really email her...

Anyways, welcome out of lurkerdom!

As for a discussion of Kindle, I'm guessing that starting something like that on the General Discussion board would be most ideal, since this is for us to welcome the new people, and possibly brainwash them into joining our favorite parts of the site.  Having said that, join the roleplay! >__>

<__<

But seriously, be welcome, check everything out - lots of fun for all here!

Captain Lasica... I don't recognize the name. I can ask some of the other military here who would have been the one's to work with her.  What time are frame are we talking? I haven't been in Baku long, but others have.

Anyway, finding someone who was familiar with my job, let alone where I'm at is fairly surprising! I'd imagine that you have/had some connection with DoS?

Welcome to DM!

Oh yes, we'll be interested! 'We' being the Band of the Red Hand ORG, since we are DM's music and travel ORG. The ORG has quite a few musicians, who will be happy to pass comment. As will the rest of the Banders. So do drop by our boards if you are interested to share your music.

But whatever you do at DM, have fun! :)

I was USAF, and stuck under some unmentionable government organization or another... -__-  BUT!  Captain Lasica was class leader for my Russian class out in Monterey in 2001/2002.  And that should be more than enough explanation as to why I'd have any idea where Baku is ;)

But I do have to blushingly admit that I cannot remember how long ago she was in that neck of the woods.  I want to think 2005 time frame, but then, I can't really remember for sure.  I think she's got to be a Major by now, but then, as I said.. not talked to her in ages.

For now though, did my time, got out, and am VERY happily a civilian.

Welcome to DM  ;D As everyone says look 'roind the other threads here, you never know what might catch your eye.

Anyhow, its good to see another writer around these parts, I havnt been round long, and I think there are lots of writers hanging somewere in the shadows somewere....probubly avoiding me till I get more established on the forums (Though it is doubtful they are avoding me, I mean who would want to avoid me?) I would recomend looking at the RP boards, there cool and are good for getting ideas to flow, or atleast its worked that way for me so far. Anywho, <Salutes> See ya round the forums.
