Everyone in Perrin's camp except Berelain thinks that he and she did the deed.  After two books of awkward glances and spitting at his boots, how does Perrin prove he was faithful.  Or does it even matter?

I think the whole point of that was to emotionally separate Perrin from his men, so he could actually use them in a battle as a true general may need to.

that or the catalyst of some event between Faile and Berelain, i forget, does Fail know yet?

Nope, she didn't know as of the end of book 11.  If it was to separate him emotionally from his men, that was way over my head...

I just hope that after what a big deal was made of his supposed infidelity, that it needs to be addressed - good, bad, or neutral.

I was so disaapointed that the cleansing of the taint from Saidin in book 9 was hardly mentioned in book 10, and only received a casual nod in book 10.  This was monumental.

Now Perrin's supposed affair was hardly near monumental, but Jordan made a big deal out of it, so it should be addressed in book 12...  Otherwise, what was the point?

The point wasn't any supposed affair.

It was the trial-by-fire that Perrin underwent in his attempt to recover Faile.  And, the fortuitous outcome of parts of that overlong endeavor.

It's been demonstrated that Randlanders and Seanchan can work together.  The Shaido and Masema's cutthroats eliminated each other.  The Light is better off than anyone thinks they are in those respects.

Trial-by-Fire?  Maybe?  But if it was - then definitely for the wrong reasons.

The right results were acheived, as you pointed out, but Perrin's motivation was let the world burn as long as I have my wife.  Very romantic, but not practical at all.

I'm not saying he passed the test.  That remains to be seen.

I'm just saying that as-of the end of KoD, the Light is better off in some respects than anybody in Randland yet realizes.

I'll agree with you there.
