Included in this Sticky is information regarding the Org, it's rules, policies, and other misc. info that people may have a hard time finding. If you have any questions, please send me a pm.

[glow=red,2,300]Shayol Ghul Information[/glow]

Rules:

1. You must keep language to PG-13. (This is also a DM rule, so please keep to it).

2. @ Staff: No modding another person's post unless absolutely necessary.

3. No posting anything inappropriate outside of DM's guidelines.

4. Keep the SPAM in Hell.

5. Do not spam stickies, unless you are told by the person creating the sticky that you can.

6. Behavior that crosses the lines of SG--it's a very far off line in the distance, but you can cross it, so watch it.

7. If someone 5th level or higher is trying to enforce a rule, listen to them. They are just doing part of their jobs. If you have an issue with the rule itself, you need to take it up with me via pm.

8. Faction Leaders reserve the right to set up rules within their Faction boards that must be followed. As these rules vary per Faction I'll not get into it here. Please note that failure to comply with those rules will result in consquences designated by your Faction Leader. And as mentioned, you are obligated to follow the rules of DM on all boards.

Note: These rules are in addition to the rules of DM, which you are obligated to follow while on this website.

Factions:

After your trial period in our Org, you aspire to one of three Factions. These three Factions each have a different focus for their evil, and often band together against other Factions for invasions, pranks, rivalries, and anything else that might be halfway amusing.

The Black Ajah:

Faction Leader: CosmicPanda

Focus: Subversion

Shadowspawn:

Faction Leader: Mightelove

Focus: Random violence and mayhem

Dreadlords:

Faction Leader: Gerrendus

Focus: Sophisticated and refined evil

Ranks

Level 1: When you join Shayol Ghul, by either posting on the New Members thread, or the monthly Roll Call thread, you will gain access to the spam board and the games board. You will also receive the rank Lightfool. As a Lightfool, you will need to accumulate points to move upward in rank. As you participate in the Org, the Faction Leaders will be reviewing your efforts at being evil and participating in Org functions closely, and when you reach 50 points, you may be offered an invitation to a certain Faction. The Faction Leaders will do their best to put you in a Faction where you best fit in, while also considering your preference. When you do receive an invitation from a Faction (which may or may not be one you want to join), you do not have to accept this invitation, but if you choose to wait for the interest of another Faction, you will have to complete tasks that the Faction of your choice sets out for you, so you may prove your worth to them.

Level 2: Once you have been promoted to a Faction, you will be given your second Rank and access to your Faction’s private board. The three titles are: Darkfriend, Shaidar Shaiel, and Trolloc. When obtaining this rank, you are eligible to participate in Links, Claiming Ful’s, and being the Dark One. Once you have reached 200 points, you will receive your next promotion, the titles being: Dreadlord, Shaidar Sedai, and Myrddraal.

From this point on, if you wish to change your Faction, it will incur a point penalty, and you must be accepted by the other Faction.

Level 3: Level 3 is much like level 2, except you obtain a new Rank, and have a better variety of members to link with. This is also the big push to level 4, which constitutes our elite members.

Level 4 starts our upper levels. To be able to achieve this level, you must have at least 500 points, or more points than the member with the lowest points in your Faction. There can ever only be three Level 4 members of each Faction at one time. These are very competitive spots, so you must work hard to get here. Level 4 gets you access to The Bore, as well a 25 point spending allowance per month.

Level 5 are our Chosen, and the beginning of our SG Staff. The Chosen are hand picked by their Faction Leaders based on activity, and leadership skills. Each Chosen has a job they are responsible for in SG, and have a 50 point allowance. Chosen are no longer eligible to become Dark One. If the Faction Leader is ever on LOA, the Chosen will always be their second in command.

Level 6 are the Faction Leaders. The Faction Leaders are picked by the Org Leader. They are responsible for running and maintaining their Factions. The Faction Leaders also assist the Org Leader in developing the Org, and monitoring behavior. Faction Leaders are not eligible to become Dark One, and have a 200 point allowance per month.

Obtaining Points:

Points can be obtained in many ways. Here is a list of ways to gain points, with explanations below:

1. Post in the Roll Call thread.

2. Participate in the Dark One Thread

3. Play games in Thakandar

4. Do Grayman tasks

5. Links/Cookpots

6. Be a Game Master

7. Contribute News

8. Hot Threads

9. Granted points by Upper level members

10. Lead a Discussion

1. Post in the Roll Call Thread: Each month to be considered a member of this Org you must post in the Roll Call thread. This will earn you two points, and the ability to gain more points for that month. Failure to post in the Roll Call thread will result in your name being turned yellow on the member list, and you will be unable to gain any points for the following month.

2. Participate in the Dark One Thread: Every month we feature a Dark One. The Dark One has the ability to give out points on this thread, to those who worship him/her properly. You can earn a max of 30 points in this thread.

3. Play games in Thakandar: SG has a wide range of games, and there are always two games being played at any time. By participating in these games, you can earn a lot of points. To view games available, and how they work click the links here: http://www.sg-org.com/activities.php

4. Grayman Tasks: In Thakandar, you can view which Grayman tasks are currently active. Grayman tasks are covert ops that you can do to earn levels and points. Each time you complete a task, you must post on that thread which task you did, and post a link to prove it. Upon Mod approval, you will earn a new rank and points.

5. Links/Cookpots: By linking yourself with another member, you can earn a percentage of their total points for the month. By claiming a Lightfool for the Cookpot, you are able to earn all of their points, to a max of 50 points. Please refer to the Links/Cookpot thread http://forums.dragonmount.com/index.php/topic,22127.0.html for rules.

6. Game Master: Being a Game Master is just running one of the games in Thakandar. Each game typically earns a different amount of points. If you are interested, please send TheMasterDude a private message, and he can let you know which games are coming up.

7. Contribute News: You can find interesting news stories online and write up a short commentary about them. Please send Canukistani a private message for more details.

8. Hot Threads: Whenever you author a thread that hits at least three pages, you will earn points for that thread. Points vary depending on the length of the thread. Note: Only threads posted at the Inn (our main board) count.

9. Every member level 4 and higher has an allowance of points they may give out every month.

10. If you are interested in hosting a month long discussion, please pm the Org Leader. You will be required to come up with the Topic, and will be responsible for keeping the discussion going throughout the entire month. Depending on the success of the Discussion, and how well you lead it, you can earn up to 40 points.

Losing Points:

Points can be taken away for the following things:

1. Breaking any of the rules of SG.

2. Breaking rules of DM that result in SG Staff getting reamed by the bigwigs.

3. Being disrespectful to others to warrant a warning on his/hers behavior... this happens very rarely, and only someone of 5th level or higher can make this call.

4. Changing Factions. You have the ability to change Factions. Doing so will require you to send a private message to the Faction Leader you wish to switch to and being accepted, and losing 100 points.

5.    Being inactive.

Inactivity Policy:

Lightfools: If you do not post on the Roll Call every month, your name will be removed from the memberlist, and you will have to start over from zero points the next month you post. You have not earned the right to be inactive. This goes for alter-egos.

2nd – 4th level: When a member is inactive for 3 months without posting an LOA (meaning they don’t post on the Roll Call thread), they are docked 25% of their points and are dropped one rank.

When a member is inactive for 6 months without an LOA, they are removed from the memberlist, lose 25% of their points, and have to reapply back to their Faction to be reaccepted.

When a member is inactive for 12 or more months without posting an LOA, they are removed from the memberslist and must start over again as a Lightful.

5th-6th level: You are required to post on the Roll Call thread each month. Failure to do so will be considered abandonment of your post, and you will be replaced. You are required to post an LOA if you are going to be inactive for a week or more. Failure to do so will result in your being instantly moved to 4th level.

So in short, you are required to make one post per month, and it’s on a sticky at the top of the damn forum. It isn’t much to ask, so there isn’t any reason (barring an LOA) that you shouldn’t be doing it. I'm not making any exceptions here. If you suddenly lose your internet connection for a year without realizing it was even potentially coming, that sucks for you, but we've still got business to conduct as normal.

If you choose to quit DM or this Organization and announce it, you will be removed from the SG usergroup and be required to start over from the beginning when you return. Be sure it's what you really want when you decide to quit.
