Couple of questiongs about KoD

So I was re-reading through Knife of Dreams and I have two questions.

1. How significant is it that Egwene believes that Beonin didn't pass on the new weaves. Traveling, the new healing ect. When in fact she did. Elaida just decides who gets to learn them.

2. When Rand and Logain fight the trollocs and all that and rand sees morridin in his head he mentions  something about a trick Ishy and Lanfear knew with the power to locate a Ta'Veren. I don't remember where that was ever mentioned.

Jordan had noted that something Beonin said in KoD was a misstatement and would be corrected in future printings.  I've never been quite sure which of the things she said that he meant.

Rand thinks about many things.  Not all of them are true.

This might make things difficult for the rebels when they are trying to convice the AS in the WT that Egwene is the true Amyrlin.  Or if they attempt a rescue based on the fact they think the Tower doesn't know the new weaves...Lots of possibilites there for more conflict over them.  Or the AS in the Tower that haven't learned the new weaves but be more likely to not support Elaida now that they know she has held information back.

That IS true. Ishamael/Moridin has said many times that it isnt hard to find a Ta'veren. That weave is what he was talkin about

What makes you think it's a Weave?

All they'd need to do is flag reports of statistically improbable things happening in abundance in an area and they can fairly closely zero-in on any of the three.

If you're thinking the Trolloc attack on the Manor, that didn't happen until about three weeks after over a hundred others had tracked him there using other means.  Plenty of time for a mole to get word back, and the Trollocs to get there from wherever they were.

Finding ta'veren was never as simple as you made out, and now it's harder than ever. The whole Pattern is in flux full of shifts and spikes.

This pretty much cements the idea that the Forsaken follow the threads of Rand, Mat, and Perrin in order to follow them. Which is how Ishamael and Lanfear tracked them all down in TEoW, TGH, and TDR.

Moiraine tracked Rand by following the events of a ta'veren, so it probably isn't an actual weave that is used to find someone who is bending the pattern like they do.

I'm curious how one finds someone in tel'aran'rhiod...like what do they mean when they say the found someone "who knows they are there"?

but as far as ta'veren...it seems like if you know what to look for it's not a big mystery that ta'veren would be easy to find; and it would not require the One Power.

Erm...I was assuming that Beonin actually didn;t pass many of the new weaves on? Did she actually? Leane tells Egwene that the sisters still ask the same questions. What WT AS use the new weaves later in KOD???

Beonin passed them all on, but Elaida restricted who learnt of them. To date, that we know of, only Pevara and Tarna have learnt them.

The trick for finding ta'veren was something i always assumed would involve tel'aran'rhiod. Not sure why i assumed that, except that i cannot see how a weave would be able to do something that detailed at that distance.
