What 'game' is Moridin playing?

Since he comes back to life, it seems that Moridin is now playing an elaborate game targeting Tarmon Gaidon. He saves Rand's life and tells him that his death would destroy "plans" already in motion. Then in Path of Daggers, he mentions Sha'ra and the Fisher. But what I find most interesting is how to win Sha'ra. He states that one could get hold of the fisher by forcing him to move into your colored square. To show that this is the tactic Moridin favors, RJ has Moridin describe the THIRD way to win as a failure, something he won't try again. So we know Moridin will NOT be direct in dealing with Rand anymore.

So what is he doing then? At the end of the prologue in PoD, he mentions that it is hard to lose when you are playing both sides of the board. At first I thought, "oh, that's just because he helped Rand kill Sammael." Now, I feel it's much more than that. How did Moridin know that Rand and Sammael would be in SL? Furthermore, why would he in KOD tell the Forsaken to keep their hands off Rand? I know some here think its because of their "connection" but I disagree, even before their connection is created, Moridin isinuates that he intends on letting Rand live to TG in Shadar Logoth. Their connection, I believe, has very little to do with Moridin's desire to keep Rand alive.

So, my question is, why? He claims he is playing both sides of the game in PoD. How does one play both sides of this game? My first guess is that he is setting up the Forsaken in one hand, and then setting Rand up in another. Since Rand can't sense him channeling (see CoS), he really could appear as anyone. This leads me to think that someone in Rand's company, who has ALOT of say in what happens, is actually Moridin. To me, it is the only way that Moridin can consistantly play both sides.

This leads me to think that someone like Bashere could be Moridin. I know this sounds crazy, but he's influential and dependable. Currently, he's the one that setup Rand and Semirrhage, which, of course, would fit Moridin's m.o. Furthermore, we know something dark will occur regarding Bashere where Rand could lose him in AMOL. Regardless, someone in Rand's company is Moridin.

I'm thinking of a Forsaken that was at Rand's side when he went to Illian and also thinking of a means of instant communication Moridin has... Since you missed these, it's going to be very difficult to describe how Moridin is able to subtly influence the actions/knowledge of team light by means of known Darkfriends let alone ones we don't know about or only suspect.

I'm sorry, but what Forsaken was at Rand's side when he went to Illian and how would said Forsaken instantly communicate with Moridin?

Corlan Dashiva was with the group of Ashaman Rand took with him when he initially invaded Illian.

He lured Sammael out of the city, spring all the traps and suckered him back to engage.

Dashiva being Osan'gar.

IN order for Moridin to have known that Rand and Sammael had moved the battle to Shadar Logoth in time for him to get thee and prevent Rand's death at the Hands of Sammael, Dashiva had to have read the gateways, determined their end location, and alerted Moridin.

Sammael gives a callbox to Sevanna and comments there was only one other in the world now.  Presumably, and this is merely an assumption, th "other one" is the one Moridin gave to Dashiva to keep tabs on Rand.

Good find...I don't know how I missed that. However, I will say that Bashere and Dashiva are together when Rand gets back and Bashere seems to be the one who's more sure about Sammael's demise...take from that what you will.

And there is also Mins viewing about Bashere, something about a shadowy background unless my memory fails me? It is a while since I read that part, but Im near it in this reread. Dashiva hasnt turned up yet.
