they do this a lot on NPR.  people write in essays on what they believe.

 

I believe that dry rub is the only true form of barbeque.  slathering stuff in barbeque sauce does not make it barbeque.  Only seasoned, slow smoked meat can be considered barbeque.  The thought of putting sauce on it only admits that you failed at cooking it properly.
